La situation est urgente !
Notre écosystème de VFX et d'animation, bâti en plus d'une décennie, risque de s'effondrer en 18 mois.
Si le gouvernement ne reporte pas la date de mise en application de la coupure de crédit d'impôt, voici ce qui se passera :
- Lors de la reprise des activités à Hollywood, certains projets qualifiés avant la limite du 31 mai continueront, mais nous devons nous attendre à une réduction du nombre de travailleurs VFX et animation de 8 500 (fin 2022) à 2 500-3 500.
- Les studios, qui prévoyaient envoyer plusieurs projets au Québec, redirigeront ceux qui ne se qualifient pas avant le 31 mai vers l'Ontario, le Royaume-Uni, l'Australie ou la France. D'ici un an, la production VFX-animation au Québec retombera à des niveaux pré-2015.
- Les projets actuellement en développement, prévus d'ici 18-36 mois, seront planifiés avec des crédits d'impôt d'autres juridictions. Le Québec sera exclu des plans à long terme des studios hollywoodiens.
Sans prévisibilité sur les commandes, comment un studio VFX local pourra-t-il justifier de maintenir ses équipes de production ? Et sans équipe de production haut de gamme, comment attirer des projets ? De leader mondial, le Québec deviendra une région de troisième ordre.
Notre demande est simple : repousser la date d'entrée en vigueur au 1er janvier 2025 pour nous donner le temps d'établir de nouvelles règles fiscales qui assureront la pérennité de l'industrie VFX-Animation au Québec.
