#TransformationNation - Looking Back ▪︎▪︎▪︎》Consider for a moment that disorder can lead to new thinking and new insights. I know it's crazy, right! 🤷🏽♀️
Traditional wisdom says you want to avoid disorder if you can. But that's not always possible. Disorder will find you!
The trick is to breathe and remain present in the moment. If you can pull this off, some really cool things can come out of disorder, even if it leads to a failure.
Good leaders practice being present in moments that are dramatic and chaotic. However, the need to practice presence and quickly recover from chaos (and failure) has nothing to do with rank.
It has everything to do with an understanding that we live in a world full of change. It is more apparent now than ever before that organizations are dynamic living systems, full of dynamic individuals. As a result, rapid change (and failure) are inevitable.
To balance this constant shifting, I would recommend not only practicing the art of looking forward, but also the art of looking back.
The simple act of asking people to talk about what could have been done better, not only makes it much easier to experiment and try new things, but may potentially help to recall forgotten lessons learned from the past. Think of it as a Mega-Retrospective! 🔭👀
As a reminder, there are many new hires in the workforce. It's not about dwelling in the past, but more about sharing institutional knowledge and making it safe to move forward together.
Robert Greenleaf talks about this as unleashing the energy and intelligence of others, the collective community.
He goes as far as to call the ability to do so, a competitive advantage. Why not give a Mega-Retrospective a try.
Sharing a fun "what if" example in the post below where everyone can participate. 👇🏽

At $GDEV Inc. we are committed to developing only forever franchises.
- I am completely unsatisfied with pouring my soul into a product that people will see only once in their lifetime.
- I am not interested in grueling hyper-casual quick-developing games that people forget after three days.
- I am not satisfied with massive premium single-release games that people forget after two months.
I see the purpose of investing my life’s resources in one goal: creating enduring products and franchises that people will play for decades. This compels us to have a planning horizon much greater than the desire to make a quick profit and escape to the Caribbean. Although I have mentioned some short-term and, in my view, obvious trends in Forbes article - https://lnkd.in/enyJJCdT, meanwhile we are building our business very long-term, which can be described as "Intelligent entertainment in the AI epoch".
