As the 2024 Maryland legislative session comes to an end, here is an update on my work with Maryland PIRG and some incredible advocates and legislators We’ve got a lot to be proud of and a lot of work ahead of us. We’re up against tough odds and powerful opposition on all of our issues, but by combining grassroots action and tough minded advocacy we can make progress on our most pressing issues, and we have. https://lnkd.in/eTUzQycV

Because, our good brother, Dr. Brown always brings us to back to a practical reality with the benefit of history and a long memory. The biggest takeaway from this article from me is the following: "GBC can do this by inviting citizen organizations such as BUILD, West Baltimore Builders Alliance, Baltimore Transit Equity Coalition, 1199 SEIU and others to join the GBC as official members with a vote and a voice" It continues to be true that the highest points of decision making and resource allocation continue to be homogenous across many demographic factors. https://lnkd.in/g3wq5cvi
Commentary: GBC must reckon with disadvantaged Black neighborhoods
