Our CEO, Co-Owner, and athlete, Mike Buckley, recently spoke to Kimball Livingston with The New York Times to discuss how the US SailGP Team is gearing up for the 2024-2025 SailGP season. “There are no 'aha' moments. We can do everything we need to do on the boat. Now it’s about getting a fraction of a second better at every little thing," Buckley said after a productive pre-season training camp in Bermuda. The 24/25 Season is going to be one for the books 🔥
SailGP has today unveiled its 2024/2025 Season calendar, featuring new events in Brazil, Germany, Switzerland and Auckland, as well as a return to Great Britain and New York. Unfolding over a 12-month period - beginning and ending in November (2024-2025) - the season will be the league’s most expansive to date, with 14 events across an increased five continents. Managing Director Andrew Thompson said, “SailGP’s 2024/2025 calendar is another significant milestone in our continued expansion across the globe. Last night at the iconic Hall de Lumières in New York City, SailGP hosted more than 200 guests to celebrate the countdown to New York City’s racing event of the summer - the Mubadala New York Sail Grand Prix on June 22-23. The preview event provided friends and partners of SailGP with an immersive experience of the most exciting race on water, hearing from SailGP CEO Sir Russell Coutts, who revealed that the global racing championship would return to the city in Season 5. Presented by Madison Square Garden host and former ESPN announcer Chuck Lott, attendees also heard from the new-look United States SailGP Team including Mike Buckley, Anna Weis, Taylor Canfield and Victor Diaz de Leon.
