There are fantastic deals available (not just for theme parks!) if you navigate the promotion guidelines. Often, traveling outside peak holiday and school break periods can save you hundreds of dollars. It's all about working those "rules" to your advantage! For instance, at Walt Disney World, is currently offering fantastic promotions throughout the holiday season (Halloween & Christmas). These promotions provide savings on your on-property resort stay, with higher resort categories offering even greater savings. When you wish upon a star for a dream trip, you usually don't imagine months of planning. Or a huge bill. But Disney vacations are more expensive than ever. Myriad add-ons that are now a standard part of most visits have boosted the cost for a typical, week-long trip for a family of four. Prices range from $5,000 to $25,000, or as much as $40,000 for a top-end experience, according to travel agents. And vacationers are balking at a system that's become so complex that there's a whole parallel economy of planning blogs, message boards and Disney-affiliated travel agents to help navigate it all. We are just about to the end of one of the best times of the year to book future travel. Whether it be a cruise, an all-inclusive resort, a theme park, Europe or whatever, pricing will never be better. For you theme park enthusiasts, there is a new park in the works for Orlando in 2025, Universal Resort’s Epic Universal with 5 themed worlds. Travel advisor’s who have inside information are excited. This is interesting because of all that’s been going on at Disney with continuous price increases, cast member layoffs, lack of services and their political problems with the Florida Governor, I can see a mass exodus of employees. I will be able to book the new resort. By the way, Universal is promoting now. The next hurdle is airfare. Back in the day, the time to book air to Europe was January and February. Not so now. The pricing for Europe this summer is ridiculous.  Spring and fall are somewhat better. A couple of the European River Cruise Lines are offering help with air. That ends soon. Here are my thoughts. The earlier you book the better. The cruise lines are booking and air is not ridiculous to US ports yet. If it’s a cruise or an all-inclusive over the holidays let me know your dates and I’ll watch for sales. If you want to book a spring break vacation for ’25, email your dates to me in early fall. Whatever your vacation travel needs, I am as close as your phone.

Since I posted about Disney's "This Is Magic" campaign and how I would've arrived to that creative, I thought I'd share my thoughts on Universal Orlando Resort's take on how a vacation in Orlando should be like. Here's how I would've arrived at Universal's "It's more than magic. It's real." creative. Campaign: "It's more than magic. It's real." Target audience: Tourists and families who perceive theme parks as not a "real vacation". Consumer problem: Tourists with families don't go to Universal because it doesn't provide a "magical experience". Insight: Magic isn't real, so magical experiences are often artificial or fake. Advantage: Universal positions themselves as a place where movies come to life, as in real life. Strategy: Show tourists that they can experience something real at Universal Orlando by showing them real experiences make a longer lasting impression than magical ones.
