Educating and Helping People to Better Understand Biases, Their Impact, and How to Try and Keep Them in Check
This is something I've tried to wrap my head around since I started paying close attention to "politics." How are women's rights, LGBTQ+ people's rights, and basically equal of all those who are not cisgender straight "white" Christian males of able body and minds, especially if they have financial means, inconsistent with economic stability? They aren't! Not only that, the research shows the massive sums of money such discrimination costs countries per year. In fact, in 2017, sexual prejudice against LGBTQ+ people alone was found to cost countries an estimated $100 Billion a year. (That is over $123 Billion a year in today's dollars.) And, that is just from sexual prejudice against LGBTQ+ people. I suspect it's even far greater today, considering that sexual prejudice against LGBTQ+ people has increased since 2017. This has never been about economic stability because it does the exact opposite - it's been about certain segments of the population's willingness to create economic instability in order for them to oppress others.
