Are degrees worth the paper on which they are printed? They are certainly worth more than that. The job market has become a tough place to be in, but not impossible. This is not a time to ignore your educational qualification, but rather to put it to good use. #degrees #education #jobmarket #employment

Preparing for your first year in college can be an exciting and overwhelming experience. Here are some tips to help you get ready: Attend orientation: Attend your college's orientation program, where you'll learn about campus resources, meet other students, and get a sense of college life. It's also a great opportunity to ask questions and get advice from current students and staff. Get organized: Set up a schedule and a routine for yourself. Use a planner or a calendar to keep track of assignments, classes, and activities. Make sure you have all the necessary supplies and textbooks. Manage your finances: Create a budget and stick to it. Understand your financial aid and scholarship options, and plan your expenses accordingly. Consider getting a part-time job to help cover your expenses. #firstyear #college #freshman #orientation #university #students

Both the government and institutions of higher learning must be held responsible: a) I mean after all the money spent paying for fees, rent, Transport and food, and finally the students graduates, how come they are now telling the graduates to go look for employment?... b) Now don't get me wrong, before you went to varsity they convinced you to try certain courses (this happens because young people have no idea of the value of various courses/degrees) and you did, and believed that their qualification would actually be a great opportunity for you to actually become valuable afterwards. c) However, the reality is that most qualifications no longer makes you valuable, you still need to carry yourself, train yourself and get all the skills and experience needed for you to qualify for an entry level job. 1. Okay, hear me out, if I came to you and sold you an idea, and you agree to spend 3 to 4 years studying the idea and I charged you for it, am I not responsible to give you directions afterwards? Where you can actually be considered valuable? 2. Shouldn't I spend time also looking for opportunities relevant to what I'm training you for?. Maybe it's hightime that universities, colleges, Tvets, etc.. Begin to re-think and re-tool themselves and how they intend equip and prepare students for the future... 3. It can't be that all graduates have to turn to LinkedIn seeking employment opportunities, yes it is possible to locate an opportunity, but it doesn't work for all graduates.... Let's talk, have a serious talk here! #graduateunemployment

No one talks about how difficult it is to obtain a job while pursing your Master's Degree. Typical reasons why its difficult: 1. They want you to have years of experience 2. Your school schedule (which can always be worked around to fit the needs of the business) 3. Low pay 4. High turnover, they believe you will leave after you graduate. All this to say, speaking for graduate students, give us an opportunity. #gradutestudent #professionaldevelopment #seekingopportunities

Steps to build a successful career Student: I have just finished my B.Com. with 60% marks. What job can I get? Reply: You can actually get ANY job you CHOOSE for yourself. But, In life, it's always better to “RESPOND” rather than “REACT”. And how do we do that? By, being ready to do the hard yards, & By, doing proper planning and preparation. So, if you are willing to do the same, 1. Analyse where you would like to see yourself after say a year in the future. 2. Based on that, analyse what careers will allow you to do so based on your capabilities and fields of interest. 3. Home on to the job posts you are targeting and go through the qualitative requirements. See if there are any gaps in your skill sets. 4. If yes, acquire those skills by doing relevant courses. Nowadays, there are many good professional courses available. Just verify the credentials of the institute or online platform you decide to do the course from.
