FHWA has clarified that State and Metropolitan Planning Funds can be used for Complete Streets planning activities without the need to match with non-Federal funds -- and that this waiver applies beyond the required spending on these activities under BIL. Hard to get that all in one sentence, but State and MPO planners may want to read on: https://lnkd.in/eCk6Hks3 FHWA encourages States and communities to adopt and implement Complete Streets policies that prioritize the safety of all users in transportation network planning, design, construction, and operations.

My next few posts will show the collaboration between Parker County governments, DFW regional transportation entities, TxDOT, and private companies to make transportation investments in the County to further enhance economic development and safety. The widening of Ric Williamson Memorial Highway from US-180 to I-20 is a critical investment for the community. Not only will it allow for additional traffic flow, but the improved connection to I-20 will continue to strengthen the viability of commercial and industrial development in west Weatherford. https://lnkd.in/gDy7VyK8 A sad commentary on the governance and leadership at all levels. At this rate, we are heading for a पिछड़ा भारत instead of विकसित भारत. Will the policy makers and those who execute them on the ground take note and do something about the poor state of civic infrastructure in our country. Making highways alone is not growth

Today's piece in the Tampa Bay Times highlights a critical issue facing our District. I have spent the last twenty years navigating very complicated situations where there are often polarizing interests at play and I understand the complexity and drivers behind the Army Corps easement requirements. Federal money cannot be spent to benefit solely private interests and I believe that’s something both Democrats and Republicans can agree on. Our coasts are a public good – and we must find a solution that helps protect all of us so they must act to ensure we have them around for future generations. We’ve seen PPPs work successfully in other coastal communities such as North Topsail Beach, North Carolina and New Jersey and I have experience structuring them in other contexts with my non-governmental and corporate clients where I’ve brought stakeholders to the table to deliver results. In Congress, we can also find other sources of money for projects. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law has funded several projects in Florida – none of them are in our district. I’ll work alongside my colleagues in the House and Senate to ensure that our natural resources are included. https://lnkd.in/geiPNHiq
