Technology for technology's sake is not a new concept; this technology has been utilized in the private sector for years. What is unprecedented, however, is the privatization and monopolization of an entire sector of the moving industry. Military moving is now controlled by one company, which operates without any oversight or regulations . The pricing, service standards, and compensation schedules of this company are kept secret and are only disclosed upon signing a contract. This practice contradicts the principles to which the global moving industry is held accountable. For instance, every moving company is required to maintain a publicly available tariff of charges. Given the USTC's laxity in tracking relocation expenses, this situation could lead to significant financial gains for foreign investors, while U.S. taxpayers end up funding a profiteering scheme facilitated by the aid of USTC and the Department of Defense.

The promise of $21 per line for veterans lured me in, only to be hit with a shocking bait-and-switch at the store. Instead of the advertised price, I was told I'd have to fork out $80 plus change monthly for an iPhone 15 pro max and unlimited data. For veterans like myself, living on tight budgets, this kind of dishonesty is despicable. We rely on our benefits for essentials like housing, food, and transportation. The $21 per month seemed like a lifeline, only to be snatched away by AT&T's predatory practices. Shame on you, AT&T, for preying on those who have served our country. This post is focused on the military, and particularly the SF, but the parallels between SF and first responders in terms of situational awareness needs are high.
