You have a very wrapped view when it comes to service. Is doing the absolute bare minimum “being there” for your members? Is telling a member who has been with this company for 8 years that USAA is only required to meet the absolute bare minimum and as such refuse to go above the bottom “being there?” I and I think other would say no. So my question is if you are commitied to “being there” and that is the companys purpose than why do we service members get only the very bottom bare minimum requirement that you can scrap by and do. That doesnt sound like “being there” that sounds like you are the average, run of the mill corporation more concerned about your quaterly profits than the actual service members you service. I dont have a problem if thats the case, but dont lie and tell me you are “being there” when you cant be bothered to do anything but the smallest requirement you can get away with.

Wonderful initiative by Northrop Grumman 👏🏽 Motherhood is an advanced degree in life. Mothers are pillars of strenght no matter how hard things get. When faced with blockers, we figure it out, we fix the problem. We thrive to do more, to do better and learn to organise ourselves and manage our time in the most effective way. As mothers we have to expand, grow and become more. We develop resilience, courage, empathy and patience, all cornestones of leadership. Companies should amend their policies and practices to support an effective return to work, and foster a culture that values and helps moms continue with their career progress. As moms we become less available, but much more capable.

This video shared by the CEO of USAA is so powerful! I was just asked during an interview, "how do you motivate your frontline staff?" THIS. Purpose. Every employee should understand their purpose, why their role exists in the company and how their work makes a difference, contrbuting to company success. A good example is Customer Service Reps. I do not view them as transactional call takers. I view them as relationship builders, as loyalty creators. I mean, what other group of employees is speaking directly to your customers hundreds, thousands, or even millions of times in a year?? It isn't about contests, awards, etc. It starts with PURPOSE. #purpose #employeemotivation #engagedemployees

A year ago today Clayton came home from an almost 10 month deployment. And this afternoon he’s leaving again for another 3 month deployment. He hasn’t been home for more than 3 months at a time in over a year. This lifestyle is incredibly hard. And to be honest it just sucks at times. Today is sad and hard for us. It never gets easier, you don’t get used to it. I have a lot of cool things happening this summer for Free Life and he won’t be here. I’ve learned a lot in the 10 years I’ve been a military spouse. Being a military family has caused us to grow. Here’s some things I’ve learned: 1. Don’t fight about the small stuff in a relationship. 2. Give lots of grace to yourself and each other. 3. It’s ok to have your feelings about anything. Feelings are ok, it’s what we do with them that matters. 4. I’m stronger and more capable than I ever thought possible. 5. The small, normal moments in life are the most precious. 6. Appreciate your people and tell them often how much you love them. My goal for today is getting through the best I can, and holding space for all the emotions that come with it.

Earlier this month I had a chat with Georgina Njogu of Citizen Digital. The idea behind the interview was to discuss personal life & career.We touched on many topics including but not limited to the motivation,the set backs,the comebacks and the drive. 1.My biggest support base is my family.My brothers made sure from a young age that I never had a victim mentality,they taught me by looking at their values,how they tackle challenges that you can't be a victim.They despite all odds were the best mirror I could have,being strict with me and making sure I became a younger version of them. 2.Social capital- I have been a beneficiary of social capital people who can and have mentioned my name in places I didn't even immagine exists,to people who have stretched hands to pull me back when I am out ,people who receive my calls when I am out and bring back the belief people like Lillian Ngala ,Azmina Mulji Leadership Empowerment Coach and HR Consultant and many othersif I was to do this list we would be 89 pages. 3.Taking Calculated risk,I have always believed that you either take the risk or loose the chance. 4.At the apex of it there are well planned ,well calculated goals,what and where I wanted to be . 5.I am a victim of my own ambitions andost of the time the very ambitious thoughts have led me a stray,Sometimes it has consumed the very drive I had . 6. Be Cognizant of the fact that nobody owes you anything not even your mentors, appreciate the people who take their time to guide and listen to you.They don't need to do it but when they do neveret them down. 7.Character is the S to the word success .Have integrity,be consistent, respect authority and love what you do when you still doing it.
