#motivationmonday Teamwork makes the dream work! Recently, the Coast Guard Station St. Petersburg and Eckerd College Search and Rescue boat crews displayed coordinated teamwork during a response mission to rescue a 40-foot boat taking on water with five boaters aboard near Pinellas Bayway bridge in Florida. The crews worked together to secure the flooding on the vessel and get the individuals safely to shore. Working with local partner agencies is an integral part of our core mission to protect mariners on the waters and around the coastlines of the United States. #USCG #CoastGuard #partnerships #response #assist #SAR
Here to comment that this was a joint effort with both an active duty and a reserve crew as well as the Eckerd college team. Absolute rock stars, all of them. So proud of the team for the professionalism and seamless integration of both components!
My assignment in 1981 at Group St. Pete / Station St. Pete played a significant role in my decision to join the law enforcement profession. The USCG sent 5 BMs / Coxswains to the 1982 SWAT school that was hosted by the St. Pete PD - a short time later I started the Pinellas County Police Academy. Station St. Pete was a great venue to do SAR and MLE operations. Semper Paratus!
Teamwork made for great memories on the Polar Sea, Point Doran and Ironwood, as well as the Eagle. I was in the first group of QMs at Yorktown Virginia and we had the honour and pleasure of to be on the Eagle and sailed her down to Bermuda. #BringBackQMs
Thank You to all associated with the mission for your continuing Commitment, Dedication, Efforts and Willingness to the Safety of the United States 🇺🇸 and its Citizens.
Great job, Semper Paratus

3moI was a coxswain at Station St Pete in the early mid 1980s, and worked and trained with the Eckerd College SAR team. They always showed to be very dedicated and professional.
