We’re more than a public land management agency! Did you know the Forest Service also provides special use permits for various organizations and businesses on national forest land, including communication satellite towers on some of our higher-elevation sites. The Bald Mountain Lookout on the sits on the highest peak in the Hoodoo mountain range making it a great location for communication satellites that brings mobile data and service to thousands of residents and visitors across southern #Idaho. Project work is in progress at this lookout and communication site that addresses roof repairs, electrical upgrades, and painting – thanks to the #LegacyRestorationFund and the #GreatAmericanOutdoorsAct. This month, we are highlighting four deferred maintenance projects making an impact on local communities to celebrate the 4th anniversary of the #GAOA passage in 2020. #GAOAanniversary.
GAOA has been a gift to natural resources agencies
