Just reflecting on an energising week at the Uber for Business Ops Leadership Summit with a couple of highlights: 1. Recognise and proud that we have came a long way in building out this GTM engine over the past year (how we align on our plan & operationalise, how we drive sales performance, how we onboard new sellers, how we enrich our GTM data, how we productise new use cases, and many more wins across the GTM value chain) 2. The opportunities ahead for our business are unbelievable, and more importantly, across the entire team, we are clear on the priorities to meet our bold ambition 3. “Frugality breeds innovation” which really sharpens our focus 4. Planning is a must but alignment is more critical when we push to accelerate our execution velocity 5. The importance of in-person connection cannot be overstated, especially when we’re all working across globally dispersed continents/countries/cities. Why do some companies achieve hypergrowth while others struggle to scale? It's not just about the market or the product; it's about leadership and culture. During my 4-year tenure at Datadog, I participated in an exceptional journey of exponential growth in my region. Midway through this journey, 'Amp It Up' was released, reinforcing many of my ideas and providing valuable insights that helped elevate our culture even further as we scaled. His book illustrates precisely why he’s been so successful. Far from being just theoretical, the book delves deep into practical strategies for elevating a company's performance, enriched with real-world examples and Slootman’s firsthand experiences.
