It was our pleasure to have you speak to our members, Pamela Phan! We look forward to continued collaboration with you and your colleagues at the U.S. Department of Commerce to promote the #US-#Japan economic partnership.
Prime Minister Kishida’s Official #StateVisit may be behind us, but #Japan continues to be a strong partner and priority focus for the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Asia. On Monday, International Trade Administration (ITA) Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) for Asia Pamela Phan, alongside ITA DAS for Manufacturing Heather Evans and Bureau of Industry and Security, U.S. Department of Commerce Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Export Administration Matthew Borman, hosted a high-level Japanese parliamentary delegation at the U.S. Department of Commerce. Led by the Honorable AMARI Akira, the delegation’s visit is part of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation USA’s 2024 U.S.-Japan Integrated Security Dialogue program and marks the second year in the row that the two sides have convened to share perspectives on U.S.-#Japan priorities for #economicsecurity. This follows a virtual briefing last week for U.S. and Japanese members of the U.S.-Japan Business Council (#USJBC) at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, in which DAS Phan shared her insights into the U.S. Department of Commerce’s contributions to the April 10 State Visit and its ongoing and robust engagement with Japanese counterparts both bilaterally and across the broader #IndoPacific region. For the Press Release from the April 10 Japan-U.S. Commercial and Industrial Partnership Ministerial meeting hosted by Commerce Secretary Raimondo, see https://lnkd.in/e3iScifY. The growing importance of the U.S.-Japan economic and commercial relationship is built upon our shared values and a joint resolve to strengthen critical #supplychains, promote and protect #criticalandemergingtechnologies, and collaborate with our private sectors and trusted partners to bolster our mutual economic security and #prosperity. #USJapanAlliance #partnersinprosperity
