On of the five areas of the social determinants of health is access to quality education, from as young as preschool to postsecondary education. When people have access to quality education and have opportunity to access higher education, they are less apt to have chronic illnesses and medical conditions (e.g. diabetes, heart disease, MIs, strokes) because they have access to jobs with increased compensation and excellent benefits (health insurance, PTO). Unfortuately, if you are from a lower SES or even with a disability you are less likely to have these opportunities. My doctoral project was rooted in this topic specifically focusing on students with disabilities.
