This is so true and remember when you are interviewing for a job, be sure to have your own set of questions to ask. Don’t be shy. Ask when the last time there was conflict in the department you are interviewing for and how it was handled? Ask how detailed their KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) are or how often they have reviews? Do they do one-on-one meetings with new hires during the probationary period? These will all help you guage if this is an employer that invests in the employee or not.
Hiring is a two-way street, making an offer and accepting an offer. Don’t forget your hiring practices need to help support acceptance of an offer #ApplicantReactions #selection #hiring #OHPsych #IOPsych #iopsychmemes #psychology #psychologymemes #psychmemes #APpsych (rerun)

What do you look for when hiring in Children's residential? 🤔 As a recruiter within the social care sector, I engage with children's residential organisations daily, to discuss what they look for in a candidate. Beyond the essential qualifications and experience, empathy stands as a pivotal attribute. The ability to understand and share the emotions of others can elevate a competent carer to greatness, particularly when working with vulnerable children. 🌟 Individuals who are dependable in managing routine care, behaviour management, and safeguarding, as well as those who can collaborate seamlessly with the entire team are just some of the crucial attributes we look for. 🌍 Social care thrives on collaboration, and adaptability is vital for effectively handling crisis intervention and case management. 🔄 What are your thoughts? What might be a deciding factor when deciding between 2 individuals as good as the other on paper? 👇 #socialcare #hiring #teamwork #empathy #recruitment #childrensservices #vulnerablechildren #careersinhealthcare #jobsearch #communitysupport #socialwork

Is the pressure of caregiving impacting your career? According to a recent piece in The Washington Post, caregivers' commitment to their loved ones significantly influence their professional lives. And we not talking only about parents with little ones around. Professionals are bowing out of their career paths to provide care for ageing parents or a sick partner. In our role at Benchmark Search, we engage with hiring managers dealing with the ripple effects of employees exiting due to caregiving responsibilities. We’d love to hear your experiences. Has caregiving nipped your career in the bud, or forced you to think outside the box in performing at your job? We’re all ears for your unique stories.

Straight to the point✏ Children's Residential Care Providers! Have you got a team of employees who appear to be disengaged and lacklustre❓ Are you #recruiting the right people❓ Are you asking the right questions at interview❓ Are you always making #hiring decisions based on experience and qualifications❓ What's stopping you from giving people an opportunity to join your team from another sector❓ Have you ever wondered what is contributing to the shortage of experienced and qualified staff❓ I'm talking at support worker level rather than management level I understand that there is guidance that needs to be adhered to. However, the staffing crisis doesn't really need to be as difficult as it is. Think about where you started from. Who gave you, your first opportunity❓ What an amazing place to be in when you can now give other's an opportunity when you spot potential and valuable skills. New recruits should show-up with energy, passion, motivation, a keen appetite to learn and to get stuck in. They should have a natural ability to connect with young people. They should want to get the best outcomes for them. This job role isn't for everyone. it takes special people with special abilities to make a difference and transform lives. Just because a candidate has experience or the qualification doesn't make them automatically right for the role or for the young people who are in your care. If your staff are de-motivated and disengaged HOW is this affecting the young people in your care❓ There is a solution 💡 #recruitng #crisis #childrensresidential #care High5 Recruitment info@high5recruitment.co.uk 📲
