I’m one of those people that takes one weird picutre or a random video to show I was there and leaves their phone after. 🥴 Sharing this post today because it was my first event ever within the space. Untapped Global put such an amazing event together and Lundie Strom at the front one of the most welcoming, high energy yet calm made it super comfortable for me being there. Thank you 🙏🏽 You and the team put together an amazing group of people. I loved attending this event, although nervous a few weeks ago what to say how to start conversations I must say it’s never been easier. Maybe it’s the people, maybe the set up, maybe my personal growth. Eitherway it was amazing 🤩 Such a wonderful evening meeting interesting individuals and seeing the willingness from the investors to find new opportunities and at the same time a lot of new founders with some great conecpts, ideas & products gives me more hope for a better future. 🙌🏽 People should have been able to join in live just to see what was going on. 🎬 We can get lost in all the negativity going around, but I have never been for that and finding a space and an ecosystem like the one I had the opportunity to attend last night showed that I’m not crazy and surrounded by like minded people it was amazing. 🙏🏽 Thank you everyone that brought a smile to my face, the fruitful interactions we had and the opportunities that will come and future collaborations that will be created. 👏🏽 #untapped #global #investors #capetown #tech #founders #ecosystems

There are few people so known in the ecosystem as Niklas Zennström - well deservingly so for all his contributions to the tech industry both as a founder and investor. So getting to have a sit down with him, in front of the UV community and really get to the core of his experiences, beyond the headlines, is a day we won’t forget. I still remember the meeting in which I was turned down as a founder from an investor whose concern was ”your product will never attract investors like Niklas Zenntröm”. Fast forward 5y and I realised sitting next to him that we are surprisingly more aligned than I could have imagined. I recognize in Niklas his strong commitment to impact and I commend his steadfast ambition to walk the talk. I relate to the chip he mentions on his shoulder, which ebbs and flows in size over time and depending on the environment he is in. We often talk about what allyship should and can look like. It is clear that he has a deep understanding of how his investments can create meaningful impact and enable change in both our communities and industry. The fact that this will generate great returns is a no-brainer to him, an insight he shares with the rest of our LPs.
