Another week, another price rise in the European R-PET market. This time it's colourless bales in eastern Europe increasing, but we are also seeing much higher offers for colourless flake as January progresses. Of course, nothing is straightforward with R-PET, and there are still disagreements between colourless flake sellers about where actual price levels sit, with some seeing prices €100/tonne lower than others. Despite this current uptrend in prices across the R-PET market, underlying demand for both PET and R-PET is still low overall, with bottling season still months off. But if one thing is true of R-PET these last few years, it never behaves the way it's supposed to, and it seems like 2024 will be no exception. #recycling #recycledplastic #plastic #plasticpackaging #sustainability #circulareconomy
