Incredible panel lineup at Scotland Women in Technology event, who each brought a unique perspective, from groundbreaking strides in technology to their inspriring leadership journey of Ceri Shaw Angela Prentner-Smith (FRSA) Linda Scott  Naomi Pryde and Mark Logan. Great advice, some things are just ‘mistakes’ but we label them as ‘failures’ … we need to change the language we use. The insight shared by the panelists underscores the importance of reevaluating the narratives we tell ourselves. It's crucial we recognise 'mistakes' as opportunities for growth rather than defining them as 'failures'. A huge Thank You to Ghizlane Gryp Maria Thorsted and Julia Wallon for the wonderful, thought-provoking talks this week at our IWD event. Female #Leadership is still something that we need to talk about, because it is still too difficult for women to lead. Women are much more self-deprecating, especially at work. Their modesty is accepted as truth. Studies have shown that a CV with a man’s name is ‘successful’ - the exact same CV with a woman’s name - and she is ‘complicated’ Success and likeability are positively correlated for men and negatively for women. When a man is successful, he is liked by both men and women. When a woman is successful, people of both genders like her less. Husbands still find it more socially awkward than they should, to take time off… even if sometimes the woman out earns them. This is ridiculous. Equality still doesn’t really mean equality today. Let’s not ignore the facts, companies are more successful with women on the Board and in the #Management , they are more resilient, they are less prone to risks, and… everybody behaves better when there is a woman in the room. One of the best things at our event this week was the buzz in the crowd at the end of the speeches. You could feel it. The opportunity is there, for companies, lives and economies to change, for the better. Let’s do this!
