How a Restructuring Became a Future CFO's Flight Path | CFO Donald McClure of Identity Digital Inc. takes alook back at his days at Brinks Home Security where he helped the company navigate the bankruptcy process. As McClure explains, it wasn't a sudden decision, over a period of six years, Brinks had refinanced the business multiple times and engaged in mergers and acquisitions financing. But as McClure tells us there came a point when management realized that refinancing was no longer sustainable. The Role of a Supportive Second-in-Command: As the right-hand person to a relatively new CFO, McClure played a critical role in this process. It was a challenging yet rewarding experience, and I'm eager to share the lessons I learned along the way. A Prepackaged Restructuring Process: Brinks teamed up with investment bankers and lawyers to negotiate a prepackaged restructuring using the Chapter 11 process.
