Are you waiting to be perfectly organized before asking for help? Stop. You’re torturing yourself. Too many entrepreneurs hold back from hiring help because they think they need to have everything perfectly organized first. Lanna Thompson’s personal advice from learning the hard way? Don’t. Whether your receipts are in a shoebox or your tasks are a mess, it’s exactly the right time to bring in help. An EA or bookkeeper's job isn’t to judge (and we promise, they never do!) - it’s to help you clean it up and move forward faster. What’s one thing you could delegate today if you shifted your mindset? #productivity #entrepreneurial #success #mindset

Like many quotes, this one is simple yet powerful. Think about it. The premise is if you want something different out of your life/business you have to put something different into it. It really resonates with me, I wanted to work less hours but maintain my level of income. I knew I couldn't do that being employed but felt I had a lot of skills and knowledge that could benefit other business owners and entrepreneurs. So when the opportunity arose to take redundancy I took it. I won't lie and say I wasn't anxious about losing a reliable monthly income 😕and YES it was a very scary step to take setting out on my own and launching a business, but I'd had this dream for a number of years and kept putting it off. But I'm so glad that I have taken that leap of faith in myself and my abilities and jumped in with both feet. 🥳 My skills and knowledge has been built up over 30 plus years working in customer facing businesses as a Manager, Contract Manager and Project Manager. Looking back it's hard to believe I managed 135 contracts at the same time - being organised and good at planning certainly was the name of the game with that amount of contracts to oversee. Maybe that's where my love of spreadsheets began... Ok it's not easy and some days are easier than others, but it's with taking the plunge and seeing where this exciting adventure takes me. 😁 And who wants to look back on their life and have regrets over the things they didn't do - I certainly don't want that.!!! (But that's a whole other quote and post) Have you done something recently to change what you get? (it could be work related or in your personal life). Leave a comment below and let's get a conversation going.💜 #quotes, #businessowners, #entrepreneurs,

Here’s a situation I come across often: People feel confused and frustrated after speaking with their accountants. It shouldn't be this way! Recently, I spoke with a group of clients who shared how their accountants often made them feel lost or even unintelligent. One of them, a service provider, explained how she always makes sure her clients understand everything. Yet, she wishes her accountant would do the same for her. This is something all business owners should keep in mind - your clients don’t know what you know, and that’s why they hired you. They should never walk away feeling confused or unsure. When I work with clients, I make it a priority to explain things in a way that empowers them. Clear communication is key. If your accountant isn’t doing this for you, it might be time to find someone new. By the way, we have a few spots open for new clients. Send me a message if you’d like to learn more about working together. #businessgrowth #entrepreneurship #smallbusiness #accounting #success

I recently had the privilege of interviewing 10 seasoned entrepreneurs, each with their own unique journey. Their insights were invaluable, and I'm eager to share them with you. Here are the top 10 pieces of advice I gleaned from these experienced entrepreneurs: 1. Every successful entrepreneur has faced setbacks. Don't let failures define you; instead, view them as opportunities to learn and grow. 2. Your network is your net worth. Surround yourself with like-minded individuals who can offer support, advice, and potential partnerships. 3. Your customers are the heart of your business. Always strive to exceed their expectations and build trust relationships. 4. The business landscape is constantly evolving. Stay curious, seek out new knowledge, and adapt to changing trends. 5. As a founder, you can't do everything yourself. Learn to delegate tasks to capable team members and empower them to succeed. 6. Clearly define your USP and communicate it effectively to your target audience. 7. Understanding your finances is crucial for making informed business decisions. Invest time in learning about accounting, budgeting, and financial planning. 8.Building a successful business takes time and effort. Don't get discouraged by setbacks; stay focused on your long-term goals. 9.While your business is important, don't neglect your personal life. Find a balance that allows you to recharge and maintain your well-being. 10. Self-belief is essential for overcoming challenges and achieving success. Have faith in your abilities and your vision for the future.

As a business owner, juggling multiple tasks and responsibilities can be challenging! The Priority Matrix is a powerful tool to help you focus on what truly matters. Here's how to use it: 1. Urgent and Important: Tasks in this quadrant need immediate attention. They are critical to your business's success and must be addressed promptly. 2. Important but Not Urgent: These tasks are essential for long-term goals. Schedule time to work on them to prevent them from becoming urgent. 3. Urgent but Not Important: Delegate these tasks if possible. They require immediate attention but don't significantly impact your overall goals. 4. Not Urgent and Not Important: Minimize or eliminate these tasks. They are distractions that do not contribute to your business's growth. Found this helpful? How i handle self doubt while building my business “You’re not ready for this.” “That idea won’t work.” “Who do you think you are?” These thoughts used to hit me daily. It wasn’t just fear it was self doubt. When I started building my business, I felt like I was walking on a tightrope with no safety net. Every decision seemed like it could lead to disaster. I’d look at other entrepreneurs and think, They’ve got it all figured out. Why am I struggling so much? For weeks, I carried the weight of comparison, fear, and uncertainty. But it wasn’t until I had a conversation with a mentor that everything clicked. He said, Doubt doesn’t mean you’re unqualified. It means you care enough to do it right. Here’s how I turned selfdoubt into my greatest motivator; • Reframe the narrative: I stopped treating self doubt as a sign of failure. Instead, I saw it as proof that I was stepping outside my comfort zone. • Take small, bold actions: When fear crept in, I’d focus on one tiny step forward. Even sending a single email or making one phone call was progress. • Build evidence of success: I tracked every win, no matter how small. Each one became a reminder that I was capable. • Find support in my circle: Surrounding myself with people who believed in me gave me strength. Their encouragement silenced the doubt in my head. • Shift focus to impact: Instead of obsessing over mistakes, I thought about the people my business could help. That purpose made the doubt feel smaller. Selfdoubt still shows up sometimes but now, I welcome it. It’s no longer an obstacle. It’s a reminder that I’m growing, learning, and pushing myself toward something bigger. Building a business isn’t easy, but I’ve learned this: You don’t have to feel fearless to take the next step. You just have to feel committed How do you handle self doubt when chasing big goals?
