Have you heard about Aviation Action Run the Runways? 🏃🏼🏃🏻♀️🛫 It’s Aviation Actions annual fundraising event where every penny raised goes towards supporting the Mental Health and Wellbeing of those in aviation through a variety of initiatives. These include the new aviation action app, mental health first aid training, suicide awareness webinars, walk and talk events in Snowdonia plus other exciting projects that we have for 2024 such as having 5 dedicated charity peer to peer supporters selected from within aviation to support aviation. These things come at a cost, both a financial cost but also a human cost as the team strive to do everything we can to make aviation a happier, safer community. Ironically Run the Runways isn’t so much about running… or runways! You can run, jog, walk the dog, you can be on a beach, a country path or a treadmill. The important thing is being on a journey throughout May where you come out the other side physically and mentally stronger than when you started. And you’re not alone, there will be hundreds of like minded people taking part all across Europe sharing their own stories and achievements. As an avid traveler for work and play, and an advocate for using travel as a means of self-care, using airline points and miles is a large part of my everyday life. ✈️ What I love most about airline rewards is how convenient and versatile they can be in making your travel dreams a reality. But most people don’t know that airline points and miles are SO versatile that you can give your unused airline rewards to Make-A-Wish America to help grant life-changing wishes!   For the month of August, Make-A-Wish is inviting loyal donors and first-time wish makers to donate differently by contributing any unused airline miles or points they may have to help cover the cost of wishes that require travel. Look what can be done - better together - always

When I first left the army, I always said if my next job was cleaning toilets, I would do it with pride and make a damn good job of it. In a world where we are taught to be kind and have empathy and compassion for others, so much so that it is so easily forgotten to apply that same code to yourself. You can not pour from an empty cup, so do not leave yourself behind, go out there and be who you want to be, and don't let societal norms dictate to you who to be. Some are born into greatness and don't get to appreciate the grind to get there when you have gone through hell to see true greatness within yourself, despite all your darkness. We all have something special inside of us. We are all the purpose of life. Be good to yourself, and be good to others. But you and you alone should be your own priority, and that is what we should be teaching our children, I guarantee you that when you believe in yourself, you will see your purpose. Even if that is cleaning toilets, make a damn good job of it and take pride in what you do. Exciting things happened in 2023-4. Millions of people benefited from cheaper bus travel, thanks to the cap on fares that we campaigned for. In beleaguered rural areas, bus fares fell at last, by an average of 11 per cent. Bus routes were saved, and new rail stations opened. And after the drastic downturn of the pandemic, people returned to public transport in their droves. As we publish our 2023-4 impact report, we are deeply grateful for the visionary support of those trusts and foundations, corporations and individuals who recognise the vital importance of transport in all our lives. Our work would not be possible without them. In particular, the massive boost that a three-year grant from the Foundation for Integrated Transport has brought to the charity has been truly transformative. We hope you enjoy reading about what we achieved in 2023-4. There is much work still to do, but together, we can give sustainable transport a bright future. Happy Monday - here are some of our aloft rules! ✅Three points of contact: This means that we always need to have at least three points of our body on the rigg. But our stomach also counts as one when we are on the yards. ✅Harness: We need to wear a harness aloft in which need to have at least one carabiner hooked in to a safety rope. Before we go aloft the watch officer also need to check our harness. ✅Two knots: When somebody is going aloft, they need to shout “two knots!” when he is climbing with multiple people and has reached the second knot. Everyone needs to hold a two knots gap between each other in the whole rigging. Recently, I had the opportunity to meet with a newly formed INGO organization to discuss the importance of reporting and best practices for booking behaviors. It was a great discussion, and we explored how reviewing travel reports can support an organization's priorities and travel program growth. I highly recommend that organizations review their travel reports often to identify areas where their bookers are excelling and share those achievements with their teams. It's equally important to identify gaps in advanced booking days and buy-in to consolidating travel to ensure compliance with your Duty of Care program.
