Visitors had a WONDERful time at our Southwark Integrated Waste Management Facility last month at this year’s Wonder Day! In just six hours, 940 visitors attended our facility which processes recycling and refuse for over two million Londoners. During the day, visitors learnt how recycling is sorted and how Southwark’s non-recyclable waste is processed before it’s diverted to energy recovery. The day was also an opportunity to explore ways waste can be reused and transformed by upcycling old glass jars into colourful vases and playing with the Junk Orchestra. Children big and small got to see what life is like behind the wheel of our vehicles and our vehicle display showcased the power of our yellow plant vehicles in action. #WonderDay #Recycling #EcologicalTransformation We host this event annually at our flagship facility.
