Recently, U.S. Green Building Council announced that the public comment period has been extended to 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒, 𝐚𝐭 𝟗:𝟎𝟎 𝐏𝐌 𝐏𝐓, due to requests from the green building community and to ensure the feedback represents our diverse stakeholders. The LEED v5 version is almost ready, the release is foreseen for the beginning of 2025 and represents the next evolution of the sustainable building certification system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council. The new standard is designed to address current environmental as well as social challenges, with a particular emphasis on decarbonization but also on human health, equity, and ecosystem preservation. 🕜 The second public comment period is open until October 28, 2024, at 5 p.m. ET. These notes will be reviewed and responded to by LEED volunteers and staff. #GET is committed to supporting real estate investment funds and developers in the LEED v5 certification process. Regulatory change can be painful in any industry. But how many times have you heard it described as "a new beginning"? We have - in the recent Voices in Construction Insight Panel organised by specialist construction marketers BCM Agency Ltd .
