Over the past two decades, cities and states in the U.S. have significantly expanded sustainable building ordinances that focus on benchmarking, audits and retro-commissioning, and building performance standards (BPS). In Verdani's latest article, authors Carli S., Dana Weiss, Kelsey Ceccarelli, Sydney Armitage, and Rimzhim Mazumdar examine how benchmarking, auditing, and BPS are enforced in three key jurisdictions — New York City, Boston, and Denver. Regulatory change can be painful in any industry. But how many times have you heard it described as "a new beginning"? We have - in the recent Voices in Construction Insight Panel organised by specialist construction marketers BCM Agency Ltd . The panellist concerned, David Aitchison of BCC Consultancy, made the point that many of the regulatory changes bring greater authority and stronger enforcement to the building control process, and will help deliver safer, better-quality, more sustainable buildings. We couldn't agree more, David! Read more of our thoughts in this short article ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eN7W3x8W #greenbuilding #buildingdesign #greenbuildings #heatpumps #newbuilds
