Why RETA CRST CRST – (Certified Refrigeration Service Technician) is the best certification for validating one’s skill and knowledge as a Service Technician. It is becoming much more critical for companies who rely on a contractor to perform service that the contractors being brought in be CRST certified. The number one reason is safety, companies want to know that the service techs are skilled and knowledgeable enough to perform the job safely and efficiently. Insurance providers also look at this when quoting their rates through the Contractor Qualification program of the PSM/ARM program as do OSHA inspectors. #TankTerminalTraining developed a two day on site / online training course based on this important publication. Operators who are connecting hoses or chicksans can learn more about the ship/shore interface and what/how the tankers alongside are doing when loading, discharging, purging, gas freeing, stripping and tank washing. How does Inert Gas work? What is a chock or what needs to be inspected before cargo operations can begin? You see, it is all about being informed optimally in order to control HSEQ and prevent risks.

𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐭 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 🦺 Today is the world day for safety and health at work, and we want to talk about the importance of a consistent focus on health and safety at work. To ensure a safe work environment and strengthen our safety culture we started the internal program “Safe Move” in November 2022. This ongoing program focuses on our safety values and a positive safety dialogue, ensuring safe work processes, preventing accidents, and reporting of (un)safe conditions. To start the project, we had a workshop with all employees where different safety dilemmas from our daily practice were discussed in small groups to see how we could handle those in the best possible way. Although we have had no major injuries in the company for many years, we are determined to keep our focus on improvements to secure a safe work environment for everyone involved in our business. Certifications help us in achieving that goal and we are proud to state that we hold the following ISO certifications; ISO9001, ISO14001 and 45001 in addition to a VCA** and Magnet JQS certification. The work towards a safe work environment and safe processes are always ongoing, with for example final inspections to ensure safe applications. #ponenergyrental #letspoweryourbusiness #rental #power #heating #cooling #CAT #Caterpillar #safety #safetyatwork

Incident investigation is a common training topic taken by safety professionals at some point in the process of obtaining a designation or other formal education. It's important to understand the degree to which we're competent to do an investigation. For example, I have taken several courses on a variety of investigation topics, conducted dozens of investigations at private companies, and am a collision investigation instructor for the Alberta Motor Transport Association. However, there are many types of investigations where I would not consider myself competent to take lead. There are people who specialize in investigations and, even then, only for specific types of inicidents. When something is sensitive and/or high-stakes, it makes sense to bring in people who specialize in that area. This is another reason why a strong professional network is important. There was the odd time when I had to tell management I wasn't the best person to investigate a particular incident. They appreciated me also having some suggestions for service providers at the same time. --- #safety #fleetsafetymanagement #occupationalhealthandsafety
