Product Marketing Summit - how has it been 2 weeks already!
I had a fab time with Product Marketing Alliance learning and meeting peers in New York. The themes that came through strongest for me were:
⭐️ Internal collaboration, specifically partnering with Sales to win deals, and #CustomerMarketing & #ProductMarketing symbiosis
⭐️ The strategic role PMMs play, and the importance of building our own credibility & internal influence
⭐️ Why great Competitor Intelligence matters, and how this can support the first 2 points
⭐️ Acing product launches with clear objectives, audiences, plans and success measures
⭐️ Defining your career path and owning your progression
It's always tricky returning from a conference and sharing that learning with colleagues, with the same passion and enthusiasm you get during a face-face conference. Aside from sharing notes, this time round I'm trying something new - I particularly enjoyed two sessions I'll be sharing with my team (also PMA members) to watch on demand and I'll facilitate a reflection session for us:
🤝 How customer marketing can transform your product marketing strategy today with Bridget Heaton was so interesting and relevant as we work closely together at Redgate. Bridget, your storytelling was great and it had so much detail I stopped taking notes!
🤓 Product Marketing in the age of the self-serve buyer with Jarrad Hubbard Hubbard - fascinating. My takeaway was that we perhaps swing too far towards value-led messaging and selling to organizations...but ultimately our buyers are people, and they want to do their own research first. Both ends of the spectrum are important, but we should balance both and meet our audience where they are.
I also want to shout out Tamara Grominsky for a fab workshop and sessions. You must have been busy!! Thank you.
