The way I prefer my learning to be. Learning that actually sticks and you can carry with you. That's one of the many reasons why I'm seriously so pumped about #Hyperclass, Hult EF Corporate Education's award-winning online classroom. Not just tech for tech's sake, but an immersive, experiential way to bring students to teachers in ways that fuel our brain's learning and #languageacquisition.
Personally, I wish I had access to this back when I was learning Spanish, or teaching English in companies. Professionally, I'm proud that so many client companies have had #Hyperclass already available to their corporate language learners. So cool!

Here are the slides from our paper we finished presenting right now at the Immersive Learning Research Network (iLRN) 2024 conference on how to use the Immersive Learning Cube and Immersive Learning Brain frameworks to create case sheets to improve your research and practice, and have comparable descriptions (with Dennis Beck).
It's our live version of 'Where’s Waldo?' But even better when you find David, you find yourself with one of the nicest people but also someone with an unlimited amount of insight and energy to talk all things immersive learning.
You want to make the most of your time at Learning Technologies Paris, then make sure you spot David and stop for a chat.
With all the amazing opportunities and changes going on, many on display Learning Technologies France, it can be overwhelming to understand what innovations can actually turn the dial, which are going to be fads, and what might actually close the learning gap.
We think that the gap which will make the most improvement is looking at how we address learners' inner worlds - tap into the challenges around the F-word - Feelings - to make a difference.
Find David Tinker and have a chat. You won't regret a single second!

"What if students could use play to learn to think strategically, apply economic concepts and deal with complex problems?" This is what some MORSE members have started exploring in the first of a series of three pilots of the new MORSE project: MILL, Maastricht Immersive Learning Lab.

Have you ever been to a museum where everything is behind glass? Not to be touched or interrogated.
How did that feel? This barrier often creates a sense of detachment, as the tactile connection that can deeply root an experience in our memory is absent. Observing artifacts from a distance (or in a textbook) we can appreciate their aesthetic or historical significance, but the glass barrier or flat 2d image inhibits a fuller understanding that might come from closer, hands-on interaction. This separation can lead to a feeling of frustration or unfulfilled curiosity, as the physical disconnect prevents us from fully engaging with the essence of the objects and their stories, leaving us yearning for a more immersive experience.
Curiosity is often sparked by the tangible, by things we can see, touch, and interact with in our environment. This tactile engagement enables a deeper connection, allowing us to manipulate objects and form a relationship with them, which in turn makes the experience truly memorable.
One way to spark this type of interest is through Phenomenon-Based Learning, a pedagogical approach where learning starts with a real-world phenomenon. This method encourages curiosity and inquiry, as students engage in studies to explore and understand the complexities of the world around them. By focusing on phenomena, students can connect classroom knowledge with real-world experiences, fostering a deeper understanding.
And, teachers know this more than anyone. They work closely with students in the trenches and have an intimate understanding of how students should be experiencing their curriculum. So, how can we empower them to build and curate the types of experiences that spark curiosity and awe?
Enter virtual worlds.
Virtual worlds that enable us to grab, twist, and interrogate objects related to real-world phenomena can significantly enhance the learning experience, unlocking curiosity and fostering deeper understanding. In these immersive environments, users are not just passive observers but active participants, able to manipulate and explore in ways that some museums cannot afford.
Sustaining an immersive learning program has to involve giving teachers the power to create learning engagements for students that get them interested and engaged in content. They know what works best!
There are several low-code or no-code VR applications that make it simple and easy to create experiences that enable learners to interact with objects and think deeply about their behaviour.
