<Personal post> Our local news featured my daughter, Sana Shah’s FIRST Robotics team, Flaming Chickens from Catlin Gabel School. The team recently competed at the World Robotics Championships in Houston after winning the Pacific Northwest championship among 127 teams. Overall, they emerged as the top 3% of the 3000+ teams worldwide (their personal best). What’s unique about their 70-person team is that high school students entirely design, fabricate, and program the robot. No 'adult' mentors can touch the robot. This self-imposed rule often can be a disadvantage in matches, but the learning experience is unmatched. Sana Shah is the co-president and the software manager of the team (the 70-person team is run like a company by the students). This year, she ended up working more on design (CAD). Proud of the team and my kiddo. Thanks kindly to the robotics director Kevin Forbes, coach Dale Yocum. Dean Kamen and the FIRST volunteers have started a robotics revolution in schools through the FIRST program. Sana or I would be happy to talk if you have a kid in elementary through high school and would like to learn about this program. Sana started with FIRST in 2nd grade (at a non-competitive, age-appropriate level). https://lnkd.in/dq7sF_wJ #morethanrobots #FIRST #Robotics

Enhanced R&D - Industrial Automation Manager | Top Robotics Voice | Advanced Machine Efficiency & Traceability | Türkiye ABB Solution Partnership
This is the official game animation for the 2024 FIRST Robotics Competition game, CRESCENDO presented by Haas. The game was announced Saturday, January 6, 2024. For more information, visit the link below: www.firstinspires.org/frc Combining the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. FIRST Robotics Competition is called the ultimate Sport for the Mind. High-school student participants call it “the hardest fun you’ll ever have.” Under strict rules, limited time and resources, teams of students are challenged to raise funds, design a team "brand," hone teamwork skills, and build and program industrial-size robots to play a difficult field game against like-minded competitors. It’s as close to real-world engineering as a student can get. Volunteer professional mentors lend their time and talents to guide each team. Each season ends with an exciting FIRST Championship. #Haas #CRESCENDO #Robotics #Competition #Game #Teamwork #Science #Technology #Innovation

🚀 Igniting Innovation: Madrid Teen World Robot Olympiad at IE School of Science and Technology! 🤖 Last Saturday, the Robotics Club at IE School of Science and Technology hosted the Madrid Teen tournament of the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) at the IE Tower. This was a groundbreaking event as it was the first WRO organized by IE students! 🌟 Four teams of talented students competed in two exciting categories: 1. Robo Sports: Students brought fully autonomous robots to play dynamic games. 2. Robo Mission: Students assembled dismantled robots on-site to solve tasks on a field. The winners earned a qualification certificate for the national round, while all participants received a participation certificate. 🏅 The World Robot Olympiad has been inspiring young minds since 2004, with over 60,000 participants from more than 95 countries. These platforms help students gain leadership skills and practical experience with cutting-edge technologies. 🌐 A huge shoutout to Robert Polding Valentina Matos Sanín Simonida Jekić Vera Prohaska Diego Sanmartin Pablo Ortega Gayo Manuel S. for helping in building such an amazing event. Thank you to all the participants and organizers for making this event a success! 👏 What do you think about the role of robotics in education? We’ve been so excited to follow the progress and many wins of the Fresta Valley Robotics Team! As their proud sponsor, we’re invested in the team’s ability to learn and adapt to new challenges throughout the course of the competitions. Last weekend, the team took first place, making them the champions of FIRST Chesapeake District. The team also picked up its third Autonomous award, recognizing the team’s skill in programming the robot to perform moves without human intervention at the start of each competition round. (Press play on the video to check it out in action!) What’s next for the team? They’re headed to the 2024 FIRST Championship, a robotics world championship held in Houston, TX, April 17-20. There, Low Rider, their custom-built robot, can compete with the best of the best. Congratulations, Team 1731! 🤖 #STEMEducation #RiversideResearchGivesBack #Robotics #Victory Learn more about our STEM community outreach: https://bit.ly/3PQTgEi

4moThis was such a cool event. Not only did the kids build and code the robots, they had to problem solve on the fly if there was an issue. The future looks bright!
