Day 2 of reasons to join our PlotBox team, or actually, today is reasons we may not be right for you 😕 We completely appreciate we may not be the right workplace for everyone, so below we have laid out what life is really like so you can decide if a career at PlotBox is for you ! 🌟 We are a growing / scaling company - as such we don't always have everything neatly mapped out so you have to be comfortable with ambiguity sometimes 🌟 A 40 hour working week and core working hours. We ask everyone to be at work during our core hours from 10-4pm but outside of that we have flexible start and finish times so you can balance your work hours around life’s commitments. 🌟 Hybrid working - for most roles, our staff work 2 days per week in the office and we love the opportunity it gives us to collaborate face to face. 🌟 We believe in continuous improvement - so that can mean change is a pretty constant thing for us - we need our people to embrace change as opposed to resisting it 🌟 We believe feedback is crucial to development so we will create a safe environment where you can take onboard feedback and use it to improve - but we can't force you to take the feedback on board; that's your choice We will support and nurture you - but we need you to show initiative, be able to tackle problems, roll with the challenges and get stuff done 🌟 There is no room for ego round here - everyone is here because they bring something to the table - all voices are heard and respected If you still like what you are reading then check out out live jobs here : https://lnkd.in/e-bwzaWt or send me a message to find out more 🚀

Today marks 1 month since being a part of company wide layoffs. Despite glowing performance reviews and going beyond my job description, in the end, I was just a number at the company. Since then, I have applied to an incredibly substantial number of jobs via LinkedIn, Instagram DMs, and cold emails. I only got one interview. Within the last month, I had two interviews with a company and was ultimately turned down - they wanted someone with more experience. Being 4 years out of college and graduating at the height of the pandemic puts me in a weird in-between phase of my career. I do not have 3-5 years in one specific job title, nor do I classify myself as entry level. Additionally, resumes do not outline reasons for leaving a job - whether that be a toxic work environment or a job not being what was explained during the interview process. Given the fact that each job application had over 100 applicants and I did not have any connections to these companies, it was easy for companies to overlook me. I have had an incredible amount of free time that I have not known what to do. This past month I have been able to reflect where my skillsets lie, and how I can be a valuable asset to a team. That said, I am excited to announce that I have founded Fika Studio, a CRM and social media development agency, with the focus of assisting small businesses with both their operational tasks and Instagram presence. This is a new chapter for me, and I am beyond excited for this journey! Needless to say, getting laid off can be a good thing:) www.fika-studio.com IG: @ fika_studio__

Strategic Marketing Communications | Marketing Management | Digital Marketing | Demand Generation | Integrated Campaigns | Brand Management | B2B & B2B2C Markets | Global & North America Marketing
I would say the same is true on the interviewer side. This can be an interesting dilemma. Candidates are constantly reminded how important culture fit is in today's job market and so this can be a double-edged sword. If a candidate over-shoots the dress code, they can come across as not able to "fit in." In the past, you always dressed up and looked "professional" but that is not necessarily true any longer. Now, I would also say that this can potentially depend on the industry and the role. In a world where dress code is not obvious, always ask.
I've seen more t-shirts, hoodies, and non-collared shirts on interviews in the last 7 months than ever before Why give anyone a reason to question your commitment and professionalism? To help land the role at Talkdesk, I went and bought a cheap purple polo to match the company’s brand. Far from my favorite color, but wore it anyways. Why? To show I cared and to stand out. Every detail matters. I'm hiring those who recognize this and apply it.

I couldn’t be prouder to be part of the incredible team at Crelate, where we’re transforming how businesses manage hiring and recruitment. But outside of my work in tech, I also run a photo booth business FotoBo Photobooth Co. - and let me tell you, wearing both hats is wild (in the best way)!! 😎 As a business owner, I’ve seen firsthand how challenging and rewarding it is to hire the right people. From looking for the perfect fit to managing all the moving pieces, the hiring process is REAL. What I love about my role at Crelate is that I get to experience this from two different angles: ✨ Helping other businesses streamline their hiring with tech solutions ✨ While also living through those challenges firsthand as I grow my own business Whether you’re running a business or part of a larger team, finding the right people is key to success. I’m grateful to be part of a company that understands that struggle and works to make it easier. Anyone else out there balancing multiple hats? #SmallBusinessOwner #TechLife #Recruitment #HiringChallenges #EntrepreneurJourney #ProudToBeCrelate

How do you keep tabs on your team's workload and make yourself useful when needed? No matter if you are seasoned (as I like to call us vintage) or if you are just getting started with your business, there are lessons to be learned everyday. Sometimes it is obvious and at times you need to create your own DOE opportunities. This week was full of lessons for me. For example, I learned that if you ask, Is there anything that I can help with today? you should be ready to do ANYTHING. My team needed some help prebuilding master cartons and I don't know how many CEO's would jump at this opportunity, but for me what a great task to do some time studies. If you know anything about me, the goal is always to be faster: -First stack of 25 master cartons took 5 minutes. I was not well organized and double handled the cases. -Second stack of 25 took 4 minutes. I organized my work area to be efficiently retrieve, assemble, tape, and stack the boxes. -Third stack took 3.75 minutes (averaged 9 seconds per master carton!) The lesson here is, get organized before you tackle a task and it will save you time and money!!!
