T-Mobile in Talks to Make Big Broadband Bet With Move Into Fiber https://lnkd.in/gE855_2A "Under the agreement, Tillman, financed by Northleaf, would build out network infrastructure to various neighborhoods and business districts and fill orders to connect homes and companies with fiber. T-Mobile’s role would be to find internet subscribers and provide them with Wi-Fi equipment and customer support and billing for the T-Mobile-branded fiber service. T-Mobile’s partnership follows AT&T’s fiber joint venture with BlackRock (BLK) aimed at helping the phone giant expand to areas outside its 21-state territory. Verizon, which has been selling fiber to the home service through its Fios division for more than 20 years, has limited its reach largely to the US Northeast region. " It turns out to be the decade of the Fiber broadband through Verizon started fiber deployments over 20 years ago. Adaptive Financial / Risk Planning models are critical to continue to guide investment prioritization decisions. As part of our Sense Making 360.ai, we offer the ability to integrate market potential , competitive intensity and preliminary design feasibility with cost with internal data assets. #sensemaking360

"T-Mobile has captured much of the growth in the wireless and home broadband markets the past two years. A move into fiber would allow it to enter an expanding adjacent market and position itself against competitors Verizon Communications Inc. and AT&T Inc." Building confidence in our brand and growth strategy is what puts us in a position to win at T-Mobile. Investing in the fiber market will enable us to gain a competitive advantage in the business internet space. #TMobileForBusiness #BusinessInternet

Broadband, What is it really? The UK’s first home broadband connection was installed in Basildon, Essex in 2000. At this time, the providers were BT, NTL, Telewest and Kingston Communications. But by 2007, NTL and Telewest had merged with Virgin to create Virgin Media. Like most new technologies, broadband was extremely expensive and not available everywhere when it first launched. So initial usage was low, at just 9% of the UK by 2001. The UK was also far behind neighbouring European countries with the rollout of broadband, as countries like Germany and Sweden already had 30-40% take-up. From the past we now enter the future. The demise of the PSTN is linked to the roll-out of full fibre broadband in the UK, although the two aren't on the same timeline. While phone services will no longer use the copper network by the end of 2025, the aim is for full fibre coverage to reach 85% in the same year. Are you thinking about changing to fibre broadband now? or waiting until 2025? Contact me on william.maughan@aimtech.ltd or 0345 646 0825 for more information and a truthful cost of how much it is to change over to Fibre broadband. See you in the future. #broadband #fibrebroadband #2025changeover

Streaming Media Expert: Industry Analyst, Writer and Consultant. Chairman of the NAB Show Streaming Summit (dan@danrayburn.com)
Broadpeak Full Year 2023 Earnings: Revenue of €39.03 million, down 6.8% year over year. Fourth-quarter revenue fell 19.1% to €13.1 million. The company said, "This disappointing trend reflects tighter business conditions, with a marked wait-and-see attitude on the part of TV and telecom operators (accounting for over 80% of Broadpeak revenue)." Against this backdrop, Broadpeak has begun to implement cost savings measures, "through the stabilisation of the workforce and efforts in R&D after an intense investment phase." Broadpeak says that the lag in growth in the past few months will cause it to "adjust its financial targets for 2026 when it publishes its annual results on 15 April." If you want to thrive as a broadband provider over the next few years, you better be ready to compete. Simply growing in greenfield markets where there currently aren't any competitors and won't be in the near future won't lead to the dramatic growth it once could. Too much money has come into the industry, too many BSPs are looking for new markets, and everyone is starting to realize we're in this finite window where first mover advantage can still be won. But even IF you get first mover advantage, you still have to be ready to compete. Because other BSPs are ready and won't hesitate even if another fiber provider is building a market. Come ready to battle for new customers or you'll end up sitting on the sideline. #broadband #fiber #sethtalks
