👶👧🧒 The Children's Advocacy Center provides vital support and resources to children and families who have experienced trauma or abuse. We believe that every child deserves love, care, and a chance to heal. And that's where YOU come in! 🙌 🎁📚 We are seeking donations of new items that will bring joy and comfort to these young individuals. Here are some suggested items you can donate: 1️⃣ Toys and Games: Help brighten their days with age-appropriate toys, stuffed animals, puzzles, board games, and art supplies. 2️⃣ Books: Foster their love for reading by donating new or gently used books for all age groups. Inspire their imaginations and provide an escape into the world of storytelling. 3️⃣ Clothing and Accessories: Children and teens often need new clothes due to growth or changes in their circumstances. You can contribute by donating new clothing, shoes, and accessories. 4️⃣ School Supplies: Help them succeed academically by providing new school supplies, backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils, and other essentials. 5️⃣ Personal Care Items: Support their well-being by donating new toiletries, hygiene products, and personal care items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, and soap. 💙💚 Your generous donations will make a significant difference in the lives of these children and families , showing them that they are valued and cared for by their community. IT'S A HEART THING Glen Meadows located in Hamilton, Ohio has a monthly BINGO store for their residents; the residents get BINGO bucks for participating and winning games. Torlana is a Restorative Aide at the facility and one of her residents doesn't like BINGO but like to shop at the store. Torlana takes him and then with her own money makes a donation to the store. We have so many good staff that go above and beyond for their residents because they become like family. Doing something extra for someone and not wanting anything in return is a beautiful thing. Foundations Core Value #2 is "Do what is right, even when no one is watching." Torlana is one of so many more of our caring staff across the State that give so much of themselves to their residents and fellow staff. They are our Culture of Care, and they are making a difference every day. You don’t do the right things for credit, you do it because it’s right. Torlana does what she does for her residents because it makes her residents feel happy and at home! By doing what’s right and not looking for recognition makes everyone’s jobs and lives easier and more fulfilled. As I work to aid Charitable children institutions in transitioning towards family and community care, I often come across organizations dealing with children aging out of the care system. These children often lack independent living skills and encounter numerous obstacles, sometimes without supportive community networks. It's disheartening that they have to leave the system without the support and love of a family. Facilitating the search for suitable families for these children is crucial in ensuring their continued growth and well-being beyond institutional care. #carereform #familycare

An initiative aimed at revolutionizing the reentry experience for women in federal custody. Here's why it's a game-changer: 1️⃣ Tailored Support: The Mint Program is specifically designed to meet the unique needs of women in federal custody. From trauma-informed care to gender-responsive programming, we're providing tailored support to help women thrive during and after incarceration. 2️⃣ Empowerment Through Education: Education is key to unlocking opportunities. That's why the Mint Program offers a wide range of educational opportunities, from GED classes to vocational training, empowering women to build brighter futures for themselves. 3️⃣ Comprehensive Reentry Services: Our program offers a comprehensive array of reentry services, including job placement assistance, housing support, and substance abuse treatment. By addressing the root causes of incarceration, we're helping women successfully reintegrate into society. 4️⃣ Community Engagement: We believe in the power of community. The Mint Program fosters connections between women in custody and community organizations, creating a support network that extends far beyond prison walls. 5️⃣ Promoting Rehabilitation and Reconciliation: At the heart of the Mint Program is a commitment to rehabilitation and reconciliation. By providing women with the tools and support they need to heal and grow, we're paving the way for brighter futures and stronger communities. 🌱 Women in prison are often the primary or sole caregivers of children prior to incarceration. For offenders who will give birth during their incarceration, there are two programs offered to assist these mothers before, during, and after childbirth; these include Mothers and Infants Together (MINT) and the Residential Parenting Program (RPP). The MINT Program is a community residential program that aims to assist offenders during pregnancy.
