ℹ️ The final component of the #ZEELINK project, the compressor station in Legden, Germany, went into operation. Compressor stations are essential for the transportation of gases over long distances. 🔊 “With ZEELINK, OGE and Thyssengas have created an elementary energy connection. It ensures that the energy is in the right place at the right time - natural gas today and hydrogen in the future,” said Dr. Thomas Hüwener, CEO of OGE. Dr. Thomas Gößmann, CEO of Thyssengas, added: “Modern and future-oriented plants like the one here in Legden still fascinate me as an engineer even after so many years in the industry. Innovation is part of FNB's business model. We are talking about an ultra-modern pipeline system that is absolutely future-proof. This reliability is an essential component of an increasingly green gas infrastructure and therefore also the backbone of the energy transition.” Image from left to right (source ZEELINK): Dr. Thomas Gößmann (Thyssengas), NRW Minister Nathanael Liminski and Dr. Thomas Hüwener (OGE) at the commissioning ceremony for the Legden compressor station. #Tube #EnergyTransition #Pipelines #Hydrogen #Engineering

Great to see more and more mainstream discussion of this very important topic
I am excited to be going to IPF24 in New Orleans. I will be presenting lessons from Europe on long-distance wakes between neighboring wind farms in the session "Inter-Array Effects and Mitigation of Downstream Cluster Wakes in the Atlantic". My two brilliant co-panelists Julie Lundquist and Mike Optis will give insights into the science of inter-farm wakes and the path forward in the U.S. The session is Wednesday 24 April at 3:45 PM in rooms 225-227. #IPF2024 #IPFConf #offshorewind #oceanrenewables

Very good first day at WindEnergy Hamburg ! I started with an Interesting talk to kick off this year’s trade show: VDMA hosted Industry experts on how the European Wind Industry can drive competitive edge and resilience. Main talking points were harmonization of markets and differences in regional industrial policies. Actual market situation is challenging for all players, but if we are able to work together e.g. on harmonization/standards, we will overcome obstacles. Haras Najib Armin Necker #erstklassig 😇

⚡ Delighted to see our latest AECOM #VirtualConsultation is now live for the #Ceislein Wind Farm for RWE - one of the world's leading renewable energy generators. 🏠 Within the #UK, RWE generates enough electricity to power 10 million homes, equivalent to ~15% of the UK's electricity. In #Scotland, one of the windiest nations in Europe, #RWE owns and operates 10 onshore #windfarms with a combined capacity of 225MW. 🌎 In the face of #climatechange, Scottish Government has set out an ambition to deploy 20GW of onshore wind by 2030. The proposed wind farms will further help maximize the use of the wind, whilst delivering affordable clean energy for the long term. With last year annoucement regarding the updated Renewable Directive, (third update), it brings more light to the accepted feedstocks , the green house gas emission targets, the electricity origin etc...in order to reduce the carbon footprint of the transportation ✈ 🚗 ⛴ . With Salma Tber from EDF, we will be presenting the "Take Kair" project at ESF Europe confrence (Euro Petroleum Consultants) where Axens technologies have been selected to transform CO2 from cement industry (Holcim) and green H2 ⚡ (Hynamics) into low carbon fuels (#SAF). Road is not that straight to develop new projects and create new markets ! The objective is to share lesson learnt, to share the challenges to get stable electricity, optimize the schemes for a better profitability, permitting hurdles, social acceptance, work with various partners etc...

It's the Wednesday update! Today I'm at the #Hydrogen Innovation Showcase event in Manchester. The free event has been organised by Hydrogen Innovation Initiative, UK-HyRES: Hub for Research Challenges in Hydrogen and Alternative Liquid Fuels, HI-ACT and their various representatives in and around the Catapult network, including Energy Systems Catapult Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult Connected Places Catapult and others, with lots of interesting pitches last night from SMEs, including Anionix, of course, and several Universities. Sounds like a lot? 250 attendees from 175 organisations, so, yes, it is! Quite a few cool startups in attendance too, including Gravitricity Ltd Hydrologiq Wild Hydrogen HyWaves Dolphyn Hydrogen and established and growing supply chain companies including Compact Syngas Solutions Limited EQUANS Wessington Cryogenics Equilibrion plus utilities and associations with Wales & West Utilities highlighting the SW corridor and National Gas showing off their FutureGrid R&D project while Hydrogen Scotland (formerly SHFCA) wave the flag for industry 'north of the wall'. It's a full on day and a half event, with lots of panel sessions, and lots of great conversations about how we are building the world's toughest #electrolysers! As for tomorrow's election and Friday's results - watch out for the following: 1) Date of the King's speech, likely 17th July, and content of that relating to GB Energy and maybe also Green Hydrogen; 2) Delay of the Summer recess to get that stuff kicked off at high speed; 3) Coordinated efforts by everyone to bang the drum on #GreenHydrogen to the new government. As the 'sensitive period' ends (no longer known as 'purdah') an inevitable rush of delayed communications, announcements and grant activity will return! Good luck with all that. Lunch break imminent, so I'm scooting back to the stand.
