Sport is a universal language at its best; it can bring people together, no matter what their origin. Sport changed my life, and without it, I would not be the man I am today. In 2019, I became ambassador to the European Commission to help promote sport. Objective: to encourage the practice of sport cycling, running, and physical activity, especially among the most disadvantaged young people who lack opportunities to engage in sports. That’s why I’m so passionate and driven to open up sport and nature to young people from inner cities, as I believe strongly that providing these opportunities will profoundly change their lives for the better, like it did mine. #powerofsport #sport #nike #eu

Hard-Work, Determination and AWESOME SUCCESS !! I know that lots of parents will be buzzing about their kids A-Level results today, BUT I am going to shout out about my daughter, Hannah Creek for an AWESOME set of results that allow her to reach the next level of her dreams 😁. A-Levels can be viewed as a "stepping-stone", a gateway to the next stage but I think all students should revel in their achievements, reflect on their extraordinary hard-work and fully enjoy the outcomes. Even if for some students, the results didn't quite meet what was wanted or expected - this is absolutely not a blocker for making dreams become reality ! 😍 Hannah has a goal, has a plan. She has been accepted into the University of Nottingham to study Politics and Philosophy. However, she is deferring until 2025 to continue on her journey of Synchronised Ice Skating (current British Champion alongside her fantastic Gosport team). Having been successfully accepted into the Nottingham Icicles International Team; this is a dream, a goal she can continue with as she begins her studies @University of Nottingham next year in 2025. Just AWESOME vision, AWESOME drive - I am so very proud of her line of sight. The main thing is, she picked her A-Levels based upon what she loved, what drove her and NOT where it would get her. That will unfold in time BUT for today Han, Well Done you !! 😀. You are a constant example to me !! Wiz - we are going to need a bigger box of socks 🤣 (bit of a play on JAWS !!) Tata Consultancy Services we need some sponsorship for this minority sport (Synchronised Ice Skating ⛸ - Nottingham, the home of Torvill and Dean). DREAM BELIEVE LEARN ACHIEVE... This is the mantra of one of the greatest female tennis players, Evonne Goolagong. Evonne is an Australian aboriginal woman who went against many odds and became a world number 1 tennis player. Goolagong was one of the world's leading players in the 1970s and early 1980s. At the age of 19, she won the French Open singles and the Australian Open doubles championships heading on to win many more grand slam titles. She became the first mother to win Wimbledon in 66 years. What did she have going for her? Aside from being a great tennis player who put in a lot of practice, she also had a positive mindset. If you talk to a lot of the greatest athletes in the world, yes they might have a natural gift but not everyone has the opportunity, the money or they might not have that natural gift... but what they do have is a dream, a dream that they believe in. They believe so much in that dream that they do what they can to learn, to practice, to visualise, to create and then they achieve. This can happen in all areas of your life. Want to go to Disneyland? Dream it, believe it... Want to run a marathon? Dream it, believe it... Want to own a home or pay off your mortgage? Dream it, believe it... Want to find that partner that is right for you? Dream it, believe it... Want that job that makes you excited to go to work each day? Dream it, believe it... I can keep going with many more things and you know what... you can and will achieve it if you truly do believe. Can Wout win la Vuelta? Yesterday Wout van Aert, one of my favourite world tour riders, finally won – and won big, because it was stage 3 of la Vuelta. After the difficult start of the season, crash and injuries, he finally made it back to the top. This solidified his lead in the red jersey, worn by the leader of the GC. But can he keep it? It's going to be a tough one, as he has a field full of great climbers that could potentially best him, including Sepp Kuss (winner of last year's Vuelta), Primoz Roglic, Adam Yates, Joao Almeida, to name just the top favourites. What's more, if Adam or Joao manage to win the GC, it will mean that UAE will repeat what Visma did last year, namely – win all 3 Grand Tours in one season. I'm sure it will add a bit of motivation on the harder days. Unfortunately, while I love Wout and his work, it's not very likely that he'll be able to keep the red jersey. He's just not that great of a climber, compared to Sepp Kuss and the rest. So it's likely that today's stage 4 will see a GC reshuffle.
