What is the most frightening aspect for a young academician? Losing track of life and current affairs and remaining fixated on their research only. 5-8 years is a pretty enough time to get disconnected from the general developments outside your lab. Be cautious. Let your research not isolate you. If at all, you move ahead to become academician or a lecturer, you will be absolutely out of track while dealing and working with young scholars or students. This leads to the same perennial problem of student - professor disconnect.  Let the most enlightning part of your life not be your most isolated ones.
