On May 25, Delhi, along with seven other States and Union territories, will go to the poll in phase six of the Lok Sabha elections. This phase will see elections held in 58 Lok Sabha constituencies. Notably, Uttar Pradesh, which has the highest representation with 80 seats in the 543 member Lok Sabha, will have 14 seats up for grabs in this round. With States and Union territories are scheduled for Lok Sabha elections in phase six, who are the notable candidates in this phase and what battles should we watch out for? Let's find out. Behind 8 out of 40 seats Haryana all 10 constituencies, Jharkhand 4 out of 14 constituencies, Odisha 6 out of 21 seats, Uttar Pradesh 14 out of 80 constituencies, W Bengal 8 out of 42 seats, Delhi all 7 constituencies, Jammu and Kashmir one out of five seats. In Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, there is expected to be a fierce battle for the Lok Sabha seat. Dharmendra Yadav, the cousin of Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, will compete against Bhojpuri actor singer Dinesh Lal Yadav. Nirav Nirav will fight to retain the seat he won in the 2022 Lok Sabha by election after Akhilesh Yadav resigned as an MP following his victory as an MLA from Mainpuri. In New Delhi, Bansuri Swaraj from BGP, the daughter of former Union minister Sushma Swaraj, will be contesting for the Lok Sabha seat against Somnath Bharti from a madman. Party incumbent MP Meenakshi Lekhi, who won the 2019 polls with over a 2,80,000 vote margin, was denied a ticket by the BJP this time. Both Swaraj and Bharti are lawyers by profession. In the North Delhi Lok Sabha seat, incumbent MP Manoj Tiwari from BJP will compete against Kanhaiya Kumar from Congress to retain his seat. Kumar joined Congress in 2021. This will be his second attempt in the Lok Sabha polls after his 2019 bid in which he lost to Union Minister and BJP's Giriraj Singh in Bihar Begusarai. Under the Communist Party of India, the Ananth Nag Rajouri constituency of Jammu and Kashmir will also go to polls on May 25. Witnessing A4 way battle between People's Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti Zafar, Iqbal Manhas of Apni Party, National Conference leader Mihal Taff and Mohammed Salim Parade of the Democratic Progressive Azar Party. The election in Karnal, Haryana is going to be one of the most watched Lok Sabha contest as senior BJP leader and former Chief Minister of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar is set to fight against Congress. The actual Budhiraja Manohar Lal Khattar, who has the Haryana Chief Minister advocated simultaneous assembly and general elections in the state, is facing a litmus test in his main support base Karnal, where assembly bypoll in Lok Sabha elections will be held simultaneously on May 25. With a mix of seasoned politicians and new phases, phase six is shaping up to be a critical round in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. What do you think about this?
