Now thats how to spec out a machine. With Gps, tiltrotator and tab boom. and a machine that’s big enough to take on more but can also do the work of smaller machines. Why have 3 or 4 machines costing a lot more when you can spec out one machine that can do so much. More fuel burning. More idling. More maintenance and so on. Tab boom is brilliant for lifting in close. Giving you a greater lift capacity. Working in tight areas you can keep the boom lower down and work it far better. Tiltrotator on this transforms this machine to still do task where you need smaller machines but still can do bulk earthworks. Heaving lifting and taking on any kind of task. The compact design also lets you into tight spaces. This machine may cost a lot but in the long run. You won’t need 2 or 3 hired machines that cost you more. With ops that may not be as good and lower the cost of transport. Imagine the amount of attachments you’d need for just 2 or 3 machines. In the long run. Something like this will save you a lot more. And that’s a fact. 👏🏼 Liebherr Group STEELWRIST UK LTD Steelwrist

I love it when people share pictures and videos of construction equipment (thanks to Steve_Earthmoving .). I have been saying for a while that I think efficiency will define the next 10+ years of construction equipment design and operation. The image here is of an excavator with a number of efficiency upgrades - tab boom, tilt-rotator, etc. Yes, it costs more. But as the original post says - it could lower operational costs substantially by reducing fuel consumption and preventing the need to hire 3 or 4 different machines. As the construction industry drives to next zero, it's important to look at all tools to reduce fuel consumption, not just a shift to battery electric. But whilst we are talking about battery electric machines, more sophisticated machine control - and smarter machine control - can help to reduce energy consumption meaning either better performance out of a battery or a route to reducing the size of batteries. What do you think? Is efficiency key? #construction #nrmm #constructionmachinery #offhighway #excavators #tiltrotator #sustainability #netzero

🔧𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗣𝗜𝗔𝗡𝗖 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀: 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝟰, 𝗔 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗺𝗮𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻⚙️ Designing a fender system demands the same careful attention as any other structural element. #Chapter4 outlines the key parameters that 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘽𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝘿𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙣 document: ☑️ 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: The core purpose of the fender system ☑️ 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀: During berthing and mooring conditions ☑️ 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Environmental factors and berth configuration ⚠️ 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮, 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 PIANC’s Guidelines emphasize that while fender systems typically have a design life of 20 years, they must be built to handle 𝟱𝟬-𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱𝘀. An under-designed fender won’t provide the needed performance and berthing forces might be introduced directly into the structure. Even if replaced within 20 years, the fender's design must account for the loads it will encounter throughout its lifecycle. 🚧 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 To keep the fender system functional over its service life, a maintenance and inspection plan must be established in the design phase and passed on to the operator for ongoing implementation. 🚨 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 The most critical factor in reliability is the 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀, which impacts energy, safety, and load factors. 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗿, this class determines the risk level, with 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗔 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕 being the most common for marine structures. 🔍 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆: Designers should focus on fender systems to be customized to the structure’s specific needs, balancing short-term durability with long-term reliability. Avoid creating sole-source specifications, as a similar energy absorption may have varying reaction forces across different manufacturers.
