On #WorldRefugeeDay, we want to voice our support to all displaced peoples around the world. Everyone, everywhere has the right to seek refuge from war, violence, and persecution. At VisionSpring, we recently had the privilege to share the wonder of clear vision with South Sudanese refugees in Uganda. Our outreach, in partnership with Amani Sasa and BRAC, enabled us to provide essential vision care to numerous families, helping them see a brighter future amidst challenging circumstances. #SouthSudan #Uganda #Refugees

After thorough analysis I realised that there are two basic and fundamental structural defects in the constitution of UN which are 1. Veto Power System for the permanent members of the security council of UN. Since there is a body of all stakeholders in the form of General Assembly wherein all member- countries of the UN are represented there is absolutely no need of Security Council to accept or reject the resolutions passed by General Assembly. As such Security Council should be dissolved forthwith. 2. All member countries of UN are not signatory to the Rome statute consequently some countries are not under the International Criminal Court (ICC) whereas all the member countries have to be under the jurisdiction of ICC so that peace prevails in the world. . Due to these defects America has made a mockery of the UN as it is reduced to a puppet in the hands of the America. Consequently America with some allies have invaded several Muslim countries like Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya and looted these countries then leaving these countries after the loot is complete. Presently America with the help of Israel (both countries are not under the jurisdiction of ICC) is demolishing, doing cold blooded mass murders, devastation, destruction , displacement, ethenic cleansing, murder especially of children and women and genocide and the whole world including the UN have to be mute spectators of all this and nobody has the powers to question them because of these defects in the constitution of UN. More than seven decades have passed by but the above-mentioned defects in the constitution of UN were not rectified. Non-rectification of these defects has created a very grave situation as instead of peace maintaining organisation UN became a weapon of blackmailing and means of invading and looting the rich countries by some countries which were having the veto power also besides these countries were not signatory to the Rome statute consequently these countries were not under the jurisdiction of ICC. As the result these countries became law per se and virtually became terrorist countries of the world because they were not answerable to any forum for whatever they do. Now the climax of lawlessness has reached in Palestine where total devastation, destruction, cold blooded mass murders, genocide, ethenic cleansing, kidnapping and rape of innocent and unarmed civilians is being done and the whole world including UN have to be mute spectators because of the basic and fundamental defects in the constitution of UN have not been rectified. This is the highest time these defects are rectified by the General Assembly. Let General Assembly wake up after decades of slumber and rectify the defects as proposed above.

Nine months of killing: Israel bombs UNRWA school in a refugee camp where thousands of forcibly displaced people were sheltering. July 7, 2024. https://lnkd.in/ewWXxTrf Israel has now been attacking and killing #Palestinians in #Gaza for nine months. The latest assault was on an UNRWA-run school in a refugee camp where thousands of forcibly displaced people were sheltering. ** #Children continue to be killed in #Gaza ‘in the most horrific ways imaginable’. July 7, 2024. https://lnkd.in/ekuDpFE3 “We are continuing to see children being killed in the most horrific ways imaginable. We’ve seen children – in the last few weeks and over the course of the last nine months – dismembered, their limbs are ripped off of them by explosive weapons, they are being crushed by falling rubble… it is just relentless.” __ Alexandra Saieh, a spokeswoman for #SavetheChildren. Saieh told Al Jazeera that Israeli attacks on the #Gaza Strip were continuing to kill and maim children. “There’s no place in Gaza that can offer respite to civilians, including children, and there is no place in Gaza that is safe,” she said from Washington, DC. Saieh noted that Save the Children estimates that more than 20,000 children in Gaza are unaccounted for. “This includes children who are separated from their families and more than 4,000 who are under the rubble and are presumed dead. It also includes children who are buried in unmarked graves and children who are detained and disappeared by Israeli forces. That comes on top of more than 14,000 children who have been killed and thousands more who have been maimed,” she said. #Palestine #GazaUnderAttack #GazaHumanitarianCrisis #GazaBombardment #GazaRefugeeCamps #NuseiratRefugeeCamp #GazaSchoolAttacks #IsraelNuseiratRaid #NuseiratAttack

May 15, 2024 marks 76 years since the start of the mass expulsion of Palestinians from their homeland. In 1948, some 530 Palestinian villages were destroyed, 13,000 Palestinians were killed, and more than 750,000 Palestinians were expelled from their homes during the foundation of Israel. In the decades since, more villages have been erased and many more Palestinians have been killed or displaced. Today, there are nearly 7 million Palestinian refugees, many who live in refugee camps with poor living conditions due to discriminatory restrictions. In Gaza, nearly 2 million Palestinians have been internally displaced by the current hostilities, and more than 30,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israel’s armed forces. Most Palestinians in Gaza are themselves descendants of families forced to flee their villages in 1948, during the Nakba. This horrific moment in time calls on us all to reimagine a future where Palestinians can live in peace and dignity. It must start with a halt to the hostilities. We urge you to share our call for an immediate ceasefire to prevent the further loss of life. #NakbaDay #PalestinianHistory

Humanitarian funding, seeing the needs all around the world, has been dwindling. Different states in the global "North" see more of an urge to look internally and forget that their internal politics are directly affected by what is happening in this world. Everything is interrelated when we assist people in providing sustainable livelihoods and perspectives for the youth in the global "South" people will not flee their countries that "easily". If we work on the environment and biodiversity in the "South" it will affect climate change also in the "North". And so on. #climatechange #livelihoods #biodiversity #VSF-B
Escalating conflict in #DRC is leading to a surge in refugees seeking safety in #Burundi. However, the rise in humanitarian needs exceeds available resources, forcing WFP to reduce food assistance. What's the impact of these ration cuts 🍛? Constance, a Congolese refugee, shares how women, in particular, are resorting to desperate measures to feed their families.👇

THIS IS LAST HOPE FOR GAZA In the name of humanity to whosoever this post reaches should sent this post to P.M. and President of his country and also to news papers and TV's. As we commemorate this year’s #WorldRefugeeDay, we honour children and their families who have been forced to flee, including the more than 4 million people who are refugees in #EastAfrica. The region is also grappling with the urgent situation in #Sudan, which is now the world’s largest child displacement crisis - with over 4 million children forced from their homes since April 2023, including nearly 1 million children crossing into neighbouring countries. Together, we can champion their right to seek safety, build support for their economic and social inclusion, and advocate for solutions to their plight. World Vision has just published a report that focuses on one of the issues we are seeing that directly impacts refugees and Internally Displaced Persons receiving humanitarian assistance - food ration cuts. Let’s come together to ensure no child goes hungry and all children have the opportunity to thrive. You can read our global report here: https://lnkd.in/d4cVfEcw. Below we share a highlight of the ongoing conflict in Sudan. https://lnkd.in/dE5pf9iR

Tough to read but important.
Our All Things Considered team just spent several weeks in Rwanda reporting. We visited a refugee camp about a half-hour’s drive from the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo. More than one million people in the last two years have been forced to flee their homes in the eastern DRC due to worsening violence, and some end up here. The Congolese army is fighting M23, a rebel group that's been operating in the region for more than a decade. The conflict is a legacy of the 1994 Rwandan genocide — which began 30 years ago this month — and the ethnic tensions that propelled it.
Violence in eastern Congo has displaced millions. Some end up at this camp
