Do you ever catch yourself saying something or asking a question without even thinking about it, as if it was programmed into you? For example, whenever I tell people I drink decaf coffee at night, 100% of the time that person says "Well, there is a little caffeine in decaf." It's just a thing you learn to say, and therefore you say it. Similarly, when I told people I was traveling to Australia, they asked "Are you also going to New Zealand?" We've paired these places in our mind and reflexively inquire as if anyone going to Australia must also be going to New Zealand. One of my least favorite programmatic phrases is when upon telling someone that you are going somewhere, they say "Take a lot of pictures!" I like to take pictures to remember places and capture cool moments. But I don't like to spend my entire time away taking pictures. I visited my friend Meghan Kenney, Ed.D. in Cape Cod this past weekend. We took this one picture together. We wanted to make sure we had something saved in our camera rolls to remind ourselves when this trip was, but that was all we needed. Instead of posing for pictures all weekend, we spent endless hours connecting, talking, and reinforcing our bond. Next time you catch yourself in a programmatic phrase or question, see if you can pivot. Ask the person who drinks decaf what machine they use to make coffee. Ask the person who is going to Australia which site they are most excited to see. Tell someone going on a trip to be present, and have an entire day with no photographic evidence. What programmatic phrases or questions should we move away from? #connection #present

fCMO | Marketing Consultant | Content Strategist and Writer | EN - ES Transcreator for Health and Tech
Mother's Day was yesterday... Or not? Hi there! Yesterday, I spent #MothersDay with my mom. But it was Mother's day for me. In my country and many others, we celebrate said holiday the second Sunday of #May, but that is not the case in other countries. I can actually say I was born on Mother's Day if I want to because in Bolivia, they celebrate it every May 27th. Do you see what's going on? #CulturalSensitivity can change the lenses through which your brand and message are perceived. This is specially important for #digitalmarketingchannels, because people are online every day. As a #fCMO, and #MarketingStrategist it's my job to be aware of all this and make your #internationalbrand connect with #localaudiences. Now... I am looking to apply this knowledge to #earlystagemedtech starups and my schedule is open for meetings. Let's connect! And on the meantime, you can learn more about my perspectives on this in my #biweeklyneewsletter, Translate Your Message. #TranslateYourMessage #KarlaElenaCeballos #FractionalCMO P.S.: I took my mom to an Italian restaurant, so that's the vibe I used generating the image with #dalleia

Carlow Chamber were delighted to be at the launch of the 'Ask for Angela' Campaign in SETU Extended Campus this morning 'Ask for Angela' If you’re in an uncomfortable situation on a night out, you can use the code word to get help. Ask for Angela is a code word campaign that supports people who feel unsafe or intimidated while on a night out. The Gardaí fully support the roll-out of this campaign nationwide. How does Ask for Angela work? Whether you’re on a night out with friends, meeting someone for the first time, or on a date that just isn’t working out, if you’re uncomfortable and need some support, Ask for Angela can help. You can go up to the bar or a member of staff and ask for ‘Angela’. The code word lets staff know if you’re feeling uncomfortable and need a way to get out of your situation. The staff member will discreetly separate you from the person and talk to you to find the best way to deal with the situation. They may call you a taxi so you can get home safely, or remove the person from the bar or nightclub. Who is Ask for Angela for? Ask for Angela is for anyone, of any age, gender or sexual orientation who feels uncomfortable, intimidated, or unsafe on a night out. How will I know the bar or club I’m at participates in Ask for Angela? Participating venues will have the Ask for Angela poster in the toilets or elsewhere in the venue, explaining what to do and how they can help. Bar staff will also have information on how to respond when someone asks for Angela. #SETUCarlow #WoodfordDolmenhotel #TalbotHotelCarlow #CarlowCoCo #LEOCarlow #CarlowTourism #Garda #VintnersFederationIreland #PurpleFlag #AskforAngela

S and D Oyster Company Recently, I took my wife, Alice, to the S and D Oyster Company in Dallas. It is one of her favorites and, as such, I always make it part of her birthday month package. As we entered the double front doors, a lady with a big smile and sparkling eyes, held the door for us. (Alice is on a walker for balance and I am recovering from a broken back - so we appreciated the help.) When we were seated it turned out that the same lady (Dina we were to discover) was our waitress. As she came to the table, she had that same warm smile and attitude and she maintained that disposition with prompt, courteous, and competent service during our extended stay. We knew from her welcoming smile that we were going to be well attended, and we were. We told her that her approach to her job personified our book we wrote on great service, particularly the sub-title. “At Your Service - The Faces of Service” Available at https://lnkd.in/eJR2evi Here is info on the book. ——————————— AT YOUR SERVICE - THE FACES OF SERVICE We all know when we get good service and when we get bad service, but how do we achieve Great Service in our business, our clubs, our civic organizations, or wherever? That ‘how’ is the subject of this book written by Alice and Clif Holliday. The material is based on their combined 80+ years of providing service in various organizations and circumstances. Real life examples are used to make the points less abstract, and an in-depth ‘how-to’ section is included.

Current view from the office in Tobago. This has been great for strategic planning and getting the creative juices going. A change of scenery does wonders for the mind. Highly suggested. #ChangeOfScenery #CreativeThinking #StrategicPlanning #Tobago #ExecutiveLeadership #CommercialRealEstate #Multifamily
