The National Centre for Accessible Transport (ncat) has released its strategy document, setting out its objectives for the next two years. We're part of this consortium and this is an exciting next step. Versions of the document are also available in Easy Read, large print and BSL via the link below. #AccessibleTransport #ncat #TransportStrategy
ncat are pleased to announce the release of our first strategy document outlining our ambitions for the next two years. We are seeking to shape the future of accessible transport and to deliver a more accessible world for all. At present disabled people make 38% fewer journeys than non-disabled people. We are here to change that. ncat’s strategy is to ensure that everything we do will start and finish with the views and experiences of disabled people. In taking this approach we will shape policy and practice to remove the barriers to safe and accessible transport. Our first strategy is called ‘Designing an accessible world for all’ in which we offer our vision on how we will work to make transport accessible for all. See our website for further details. https://lnkd.in/eK7agDKE

Over the last two years, Blue Cross NC, led by our CEO, Tunde Sotunde, embarked on our Extra Miles Tour. This was an effort to get out of our offices, hit the road (we traveled more than 11,000 miles!) and #listen to the communities and people we #serve. I’m proud to share with you Blue Cross NC's Extra Miles Tour report. This was no ordinary listening tour. The conversations and experiences we had along the way are helping us think outside the box. We're exploring how we engage with the communities we serve and where there are new opportunities to convene and collaborate. This report outlines some of the key takeaways from our journey. The lessons and observations gathered here (plus the great ideas that we couldn’t share in such a limited space) are helping us create the roadmap for our work ahead and providing a better picture of where to focus resources and energies. This report represents an important milestone, but it isn’t a wrap-up by any stretch of the imagination. It’s the first step in the next leg of our journey to make health care better for all. Stay tuned to see what's next! https://lnkd.in/dd4JZThf

ACTA Pricing Trial Update: The trial, officially known as the Community Transport Pricing Pilot (CTPP), is a collaborative effort between Australian Community Transport Association (ACTA) and the Australian Federal Government’s Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care. Its aim is to refine transport cost methodologies, explore alternative policy arrangements, and integrate social engagement and client choice into future transport pricing mechanisms. During the recent meeting, the University of South Australia presented preliminary analysis of operational data, which will be further analysed alongside trip data collected during the pilot. This analysis is crucial for developing a pricing model for the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (#CHSP). Read more Here: https://bit.ly/3xw2tMs #communitytransport #agedcare #ndis #orcoda

Really important report out today. Highlighting, among other things: ⭐️That NHS England must prioritise cultural improvement alongside operational targets ⭐️That improvement must be people-centred, collaborative and inclusive, allowing all voices to be heard. #staffexperience #patientexperience #compassionateleadership

With 30 years of experience, I have led transformative initiatives in government, insurance, and technology, focusing on social protection and health through policy making, market development, business transformation.
Great opportunity to learn and share with the participants on increasing need for personalized services in the face of complex health and social conditions. I am introducing a model that aims to address these challenges and provide more personalized, coordinated services to individuals, which we call ‘Coordinated Health and Social Outcomes’. This model is based on non-systematic, unstructured research conducted over the last 7-8 years, observations, literature review, and interviews with various experts on care transformation systems both internationally and in the USA. At this year's APHSA -- American Public Human Services Association summit, there is a special focus on individuals with lived experience, and leveraging community, technology and human-centered design for better outcomes. If that's an area you'd like to discus further, don't miss the session from Dr. Hector Upegui, today at 1:30 at the event - we'll see you there! https://lnkd.in/eApUEjVN #Curam #APHSA #personcenteredcare #healthandhumanservices

⚠️Meet our partners - Eurocarers⚠️ Eurocarers brings together carers’ organisations as well as relevant universities & research institutes – a unique combination that enables evidence-based advocacy. Our network works to ensure that care is valued and unpaid care is recognised as central to the sustainability of health and long-term care systems. We believe that carers’ know-how and needs are worth listening to and people should have the right to choose freely whether they want to be a carer, and to what extent they want to be involved in caring. Our aim is therefore to act as a voice for informal carers, irrespective of their age or the particular health needs of the person they are caring for. After the devastating and detestable attack in Southport, it is tragic that the outcome of that has been lies that have been used as a justification of some of the worst race riots the UK has seen. These race riots in the UK have shaken many of us deeply. The violence and hatred sparked by a terrible knife attack of a solo individual, which should have been condemned, have instead been fueled by propaganda, leading to a surge in racial tensions. These events are a stark reminder of the fragility of progress towards an inclusive society. For many ethnic minorities, the past week has reignited deep-seated fears. It feels as though racism, simmering beneath the surface, is now boiling over. For many since Brexit, there’s been a sense of unease, as if racism had been given new permission to emerge. Now, with these riots, our worst fears seem to be coming to life. The recent attacks on Filipino nurses in Sunderland highlight how far-reaching this hatred can be. These healthcare workers, who have given so much, are now being targeted simply because of their race. While many, of all races feel sadness and indignation, not all of us fear for our safety when we step outside. For those who do, this fear is real, and it’s up to us as leaders to acknowledge and address it. This is a critical moment for the NHS and its leadership. Amanda Pritchard has today rightly led the way, acknowledging both the terrible loss of life in Southport, which should not have been overshadowed by these terrible riots. We need leaders to continue to step forward. Now, more than ever, we need leadership that not only condemns the violence but also works actively to bridge the divides laid bare. Leaders must understand this isn’t just about sadness; it’s about fear and the lived experience of racism, and the urgent need for action. As NHS leaders, we must create safe spaces for our staff, ensuring no one feels alone. We must be vocal in condemning racism and proactive in fostering inclusion and respect. This isn’t just a moral obligation; it’s essential to continue providing the compassionate care at the heart of our profession. Now is the time for us all to step up, to be the leaders our communities need, to be proactively anti-racist, to work toward a future where everyone, of all races feels safe and valued. Let’s not allow fear to take root; instead, let’s be anti-racist and let's as a nation allow the families in Southport to grieve. Bernadette T.
