🌍 Remote Should Mean Remote 🌍
Dear companies, can we talk about the bait-and-switch with “remote” job listings?
Nothing deflates hope faster than seeing remote in the title, only to find out—oh wait—you must live in Wisconsin or "only open to residents of Utah". Why? 😤
If a position is truly remote, the only requirements should be:
👉 Do I have the skills?
👉 Am I qualified?
👉 Do I have reliable Wi-Fi and a can-do attitude?
My location shouldn’t matter as long as I consistently deliver exceptional results that exceed expectations.
Here’s the thing: labeling a job “remote” when it’s actually location-specific is misleading and wastes everyone’s time. If you need someone local, that’s totally fine—just be upfront about it. Job seekers appreciate transparency just as much as companies value integrity.
Let’s make the hiring process honest, efficient, and productive. No games, no gimmicks, just clarity!!!
Still hopeful (and ready to crush it from anywhere),
A candidate who knows great work doesn’t have a ZIP code.
