If 21st August 1968 had not happened, ČSA would have bought Vickers VC-10. But after the ocupation Czechoslovak Airlines were forced to buy and use the russian Iljushin Il-62. Here is the comparison of both airplanes: - the Il-62 had the more powerful engines; Soloviev D-30KU turbofans produced 107.9 kN of thrust - the VC10's Rolls-Royce Conway Mk 301s turbofans had 100 kN of thrust - VC-10 was able to fly 4000 fts higher - VC-10 was the fastest jetliner before Concorde with speed 930 km/h - Il-62 is the best selling airline jet ever

Kangaroo Route, čtyřdenní cestu Sydney - London s 8 mezipřistáními: Sydney - Darwin, Singapore, Bankok, Calcutta, Karachi, Bahrain, Cairo, Rome, London. Dnes má jako V-jet zbarvený svůj Boeing 707-138 John Travolta.
