The 2024 theme for Women in History Month is “women who advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion” The theme recognizes women who understand that, for a positive future, we need to eliminate bias and discrimination entirely from our lives, workplaces and communities. Women from every background have long realized that discrimination will never bring equality or justice. We need to speak up and work harder for fairness in our institutions and social interactions.

"When women are absent, we must inquire: why are they not here? When women face discrimination, we must speak out against such practices. When women are not treated fairly, we must take appropriate action. We need to do this every time, without fail. To all the women who are contributing to and promoting inclusion, we see you, and we are rooting for you. Happy International Women's Day! #InspireInclusion #CasaFinaDevelopment #InternationalWomensDay"

#FAACT Recognizes Women's History Month The 2024 National Women’s History Theme Is “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion” This year’s theme recognizes women throughout the country who understand that, for a positive future, we need to eliminate bias and discrimination entirely from our lives and institutions. It takes courage for women to advocate for practical goals like equity, diversity and inclusion when established forces aim to misinterpret, exploit, or discredit them. Throughout 2024, we honor local women from the past and present who have taken the lead to show the importance of change and to establish firmer safeguards, practices and legislation reflecting these values. Following decades of discrimination, we are proud to celebrate women who work for basic inclusion, equality, and fairness. Who are the women in your community or organization that you will honor? We all have an opportunity to invest in women by empowering them to realize their economic & social cultural rights. Let's continue to champion the inclusion of women, particularly those from marginalized communities who have been historically excluded from decision-making tables. Their voices, perspectives, and experiences are critical for creating a more equitable future. #womenfirst #puttingpeoplefirst #communitiesfirst #InspireInclusion

Happy International Women's Day World-renowned feminist, journalist and activist, Gloria Steinem, reportedly once explained: "The story of women's struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist nor to any one organization but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights." When women aren't present, we must ask: "If not, why not?" When women are discriminated against, we must call out poor practice. When the treatment of women is not equitable, we must take action. And we must do this each time, every time. So together, let's all help fight the good fight. #InspireInclusion2024

PIA recognises that a gender-inclusive and equitable approach to planning is essential to addressing some of the current challenges being experienced in Australia. If we plan communities responsive to the needs of women, our cities will become safer, healthier, and fairer for all. 📑 In 2021, PIA released the Gender Equity Policy (Read here: https://lnkd.in/guc7fuT6). Following its adoption, a working group comprised of members of PIA’s Women in Planning networks around the country has developed an action plan to deliver on the four policy principles designed to show leadership and equity within the profession. The PIA Gender Equity Action Plan plays an important role in transforming the Gender Equity Policy into ongoing practical and achievable steps. The plan will guide PIA in the coming years as we continue our concerted effort in ensuring the planning profession reflects the diversity of the communities that we serve. 👉 Read the Action Plan here: https://lnkd.in/gT7Y3Tps PIA would like to thank the following members for their continued hard work and input into the delivery of the action plan: Eleni Kiamos MPIA, Penny Smith RPIA, Alejandra Rojas RPIA (Fellow), Helise Ho MPIA, Maia Cavendish MPIA, Palavdeep Kaur PIA (Assoc.), Melissa Bailey MPIA, Freya May Shaw PIA (Assoc.), and Abbey Goodall

Before the International Women's Day, it is time to think about inclusive workplace and beyond, inclusive world. Without dreaming, we can not build it. I share Anna's Call-to-Action! Collectively, let's forge a more inclusive world for women. #internationalwomensday
