🤔Perhaps you remember many controversial discussions about certain long-term market measures in the negotiation period of the #EUElectricityMarketReform #EMD that, among other legislative instruments, has given us the new Regulation 2024/1747 to improve the Union’s electricity market design (published in the Official Journal of the EU on 26th June🗓️). ✅However, I am sure you don’t remember any hot political discussions on the #PROFlexibility measures since there was an EU-wide consensus on the huge benefits of unlocking all kinds of flexibility means and services to make our EU #ElectricitySystem more #resilient, #efficient and #decarbonized. ✅I always like to publicly share that #PROFlexibility exercises are a super-important thing you can do for your #health. It provides you with improved #balance, better #posture, greater #strength and #resilience … and, in doing so, prevents falls and pains. Well, this works not just for your body systems but for the EU #ElectricitySystem as well. ✅In this context, flexibility is one of the #MostMentioned words in 🇪🇺Regulation 2024/1717… more than 8️⃣0️⃣ times. I do not dare to spot all of them … …but I leave you (in my view) the fundamental #PROFlexibility measures that perhaps might help you divulge all the benefits of a flexible electricity system with #MoreEurope #MoreMarkets

It's shocking to see The Wall Street Journal publish such a poorly argued pro-#fossilfuel attack on a federal electricity policy that benefits everyone. Contrary to the WSJ's (weak) primary argument, neither #electricity nor #renewableenergy are political irl: they are critical, life-sustaining resources, like food, water and shelter. No one who is familiar with US electricity policy over the last 20 years should be surprised by FERC's solution to ensuring Americans have access to affordable, reliable electricity. This policy has been years in the making and is critical to modernizing US energy infrastructure.

New Report Launch: Dr. Nicholas Harrington's latest research outlines a strategy to reduce consumer electricity prices in the UK. Using both hard and soft systems thinking, the report addresses technical challenges and the human factors driving costs. High electricity prices are a long-term issue. Reducing costs will accelerate heat pump adoption and help decarbonise domestic heating—crucial for the UK's electrification strategy and Net Zero goals. Americans deserve access to electricity at a price they can afford. The power plant rule issued by EPA in April directly undermines the availability, reliability, and affordability of electricity for U.S. consumers. Sunflower, NRECA, and electric cooperatives across the nation argue EPA’s rule is UNLAWFUL because it exceeds EPA’s authority, disregards Supreme Court rulings, and doesn't comply with the Clean Air Act. Why is it UNLAWFUL? The EPA set the emission standards based on what they believe carbon capture and sequestration technology can achieve in the FUTURE instead of what has been adequately demonstrated to be attainable today. In addition, the rule violates the Clean Air Act, which prohibits EPA from making decisions of "vast economic and political significance” without a clear statement from Congress. This disregards the “major questions doctrine" and is inconsistent with the text, structure, and context of Clean Air Act Section 111. ➡️ https://bit.ly/4bI4680
