🌟 Vision Weekend 2024: A Gathering of Visionary Minds 🌟 This past weekend, I had the incredible opportunity to attend Vision Weekend, an annual conference organized by #foresightinstitute at Bückeburg Palace in Germany. The event brought together visionaries, researchers, and innovators, all united by a common goal: to explore and create paths to progress for a better future. 🌍 The main conference track, "Paths to Progress," featured presentations from Foresight's core community, delving into areas such as #LongevityScience, 🧬💻 #MolecularComputing, 🧠🔌 #Neurotechnology, 🔒💻 #Cryptography, ⚡🌍 #EnergyInnovation, 🚀🌌 #SpaceExploration, and strategies for driving innovation. The breakout sessions allowed for deep dives into specific paths to progress and fostered a vibrant exchange of ideas and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Engaging with brilliant minds from various fields was incredibly enriching. 💡 Networking with like-minded individuals who share a passion for creating a better world was one of the most valuable aspects of the event. The connections forged have the potential to catalyze collaborations and accelerate progress. 🤝 As the weekend drew to a close, the conference united once again to compare paths to progress and explore cross-domain insights. The collective wisdom and determination were truly inspiring. 🌈 I did try to cement my status as the loyal knight who boldly supported England's quest for Euro glory later that evening in Berlin, just as the castle's knights did for their kingdom centuries ago – though alas, this time football didn't quite make it home. I guess you could say the Three Lions' armor had a few chinks in it! 🏰⚽😄 #Futuretechnology

Absolutely thrilled to have had the opportunity to be involved in the recent Roundtable with the Chinese Ambassador organised by John McLean OBE, Chairman of China UK Business Development Centre and the Institute of Directors (IoD). During the two-hour session, HE Ambassador Zheng shared insights on the five major opportunities and three challenges China is seeing. Attendees engaged in an open dialogue with HE Ambassador Zheng and Minister Counsellor Bao Ling, discussing their concerns and aspirations about expanding into China. As a Chinese national living and working in the UK for more than two decades, on behalf of my startup OrinTent , I spoke passionately about seeing is believing. China is a massive market with tremendous demand and opportunities. Go and see what it’s like from your own eyes and feel the warmth, sincerety and enthusiasm from businesses and people there, you will arrive at your very own conclusion on why China for expansion. The upcoming China International Supply Chain Expo(CISCE), China International Import Expo and other major exhibitions later this year will provide valuable opportunities for businesses to gain deeper insights into the Chinese market, build meaningful connections, and explore potential partnerships. 🔔 € 1.3 MILLION SEED EXTENSION FOR ATMOS Space Cargo 🔔 ATMOS Space Cargo has achieved another significant milestone by extending their initial seed financing round from June 2023, which was oversubscribed at €4 million. This funding boost comes as they prepare to assemble the prototype of their Phoenix return capsule. OTB Ventures is now also joining the consortium of experienced space tech investors including HTGF | High-Tech Gründerfonds (Christian Ziach), Amadeus Capital Partners & APEX (Amadeus APEX Technology Fund), Seraphim Space (Maureen Haverty), E2MC Ventures (Raphael Roettgen, CFA), VENTIS CAPITAL (Christoph Sagemann), MBG Baden-Württemberg GmbH, and another.vc (Falk Haurenherm). Together, they demonstrate continued strong support for ATMOS’ groundbreaking space cargo return technology. The new investment is poised to broaden ATMOS’ access to alternative launch providers, thereby shortening the time to market for their sustainable In-Orbit Demonstration (IOD) service. ATMOS is actively participating in ESA’s Commercial Cargo Initiative tender. This initiative aims to support demonstration missions that deliver cargo back from low Earth orbit (LEO) before the end of 2028. This involvement underscores their commitment to advancing space technology.
