I Believe Juneteenth Should Be Massively Celebrated A day that echoes freedom, resilience, and hope deserves more than recognition—it deserves celebration. Juneteenth marks the end of one of the darkest chapters in history and the beginning of a journey toward justice and equality. It’s not just a day for Black history—it’s a day for human history. When I saw C&J Migrant Solutions Foundations announce this event, I knew I had to be part of this milestone in a meaningful movement. Without hesitation, I reached out and committed to covering the event, capturing interviews, and enjoying the experience. But for me, it was about more than just documenting the day—it was about being part of something impactful. Here’s why it matters to me: It celebrates progress: The fight for freedom was long and hard, but it reminds us of what courage and perseverance can achieve. It fosters unity: Juneteenth is an opportunity for all of us to come together, acknowledge the past, and build a future where freedom truly knows no boundaries. It inspires action: Honoring this day isn’t just about reflection—it’s about recommitting to the values of equality and justice in our everyday lives. Let’s make Juneteenth not just a day off, but a day on—a day to learn, to connect, to support Black businesses, and to celebrate the rich culture and contributions of the Black community.
