#TuesdayThoughts A question that keeps coming up in #SchoolLeadership is the place and role of gender in effective school leadership. While statistics show that globally, there are generally more male than female school leaders, various studies have shown that there is a positive association between female school leaders and student performance. Further, that being exposed to female leaders reduces negative stereotypes about the roles of women and that based on approaches and practices, female school leaders may contribute to reduction of the educational attainment gender gap. Considered to be the second most important factor for learning after classroom teaching, school leadership is a key lever for improving education outcomes.
