What is ELISA ? Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) is a widely used laboratory technique for detecting and quantifying substances such as peptides, proteins, antibodies, and hormones. Principle of ELISA? ELISA is based on the principle of antigen-antibody interaction. The target antigen is immobilized on a solid surface, and a specific antibody linked to an enzyme is used to detect the antigen. The enzyme catalyzes a reaction with a substrate to produce a measurable product, usually a color change, which is proportional to the amount of antigen in the sample.
