one thing i've realized as a therapist is that many people don’t fully understand what therapy can offer 🌿. there’s still this misconception that you need to be in crisis to seek help, but that’s not true! therapy isn’t just for tough times — it’s a space to sort through your thoughts, make sense of life, and break free from beliefs that no longer serve you 🌸. not all therapy models are the same, but my approach focuses on seeing the whole person and helping them reach their full potential ✨. it’s a time each week to connect with yourself, to be held, and take exactly what you need, whether you’ve had a rough week or even a great one. there’s no criteria, no crisis needed — my therapy cabin is whatever you need it to be, week by week. curious to know more? drop me an email at spacetotalk@outlook.com and let’s have a chat 💌. don’t forget to save this for later and follow @spacetotalk_counselling 🧠. #therapy #eastleigh #eastleighcounsellor #counselloreastleigh #therapist #spacetotalk #talkingtherapy #therapyworks #mentalhealthmatters #mentalwellbeing #emotionalwellbeing #therapyiscool #selfcare #healingjourney #wellnessjourney #innergrowth #selfdiscovery

Therapy is not just a “talking” profession. I’ve had so many people describe therapists as people who just “talk” and “fix” your problems. I mean, that does sound appealing, but it’s quite far from what being a therapist is all about. Therapy is much more than that. Yes, we talk and work through issues, but therapy is so much more than that. It involves: 🌀 Being truly present with someone in their most vulnerable moments. 🐚 Reflecting emotions and insights for them when they can’t see it themselves. ✨ Carrying our clients’ stories with us even after the session, constantly thinking about how to support them better. 🪬 Feeling their hopelessness, grief, and helplessness alongside them-not necessarily solving the problem but staying with its impact. And beyond therapy, many of us handle admin work, finances, scheduling, and engage in continuous learning. We promote our practice, network, and constantly look for ways to improve ourselves professionally. The reason why we think therapy is merely a talking profession, is because we only see what happens in that one hour of therapy, and view it as just that. The preparation, the emotional weight we carry, and the nuanced care we provide all contribute to the deeper impact of our work. I hope, as therapists, we reach a day where we don’t have to constantly defend and explain the work we do. #TherapistLife #MentalHealthMatters #TherapyBeyondTalk #EmotionalWellbeing #BehindTheScenes #MentalHealthProfessionals #Insights

If you've never been to therapy before, it can be hard to know what to expect. Allow us to set the stage... ✨ It can be awkward or slightly uncomfortable at first – that's normal and okay! ✨ You are the expert regarding your own experiences. Feel free to correct your therapist and/or give feedback if something isn't working! ✨ Therapy can be emotionally draining at times. That's why self-care is so important. ✨ It might take a while for you to see the benefits – most of the work happens between sessions when you apply what you've learned to everyday life. ✨ You probably won't have a ginormous breakthrough every session. ✨ You might have to 'shop around' and meet with several different therapists before finding the right one for you. What other questions do y'all have about therapy? We'd love to help! #dfw #fortworth #fortworthtx #iheartfortworth #fortworthlocals #mentalhealthawarenessmonth #healthyrelationships #mentalhealthadvocate #therapistsofinstagram #mentalhealthsupport #mentalhealthtips #therapist

Therapy: The First Steps Ever wondered what it’s like to start therapy? Let us tell you a little story... Imagine walking into a cozy room. You're greeted with a warm smile and a comfy chair that seems to whisper, “Hey, take a load off.” You sit down and think, “Alright, this isn't so bad.” Then, the therapist says, “Tell me about yourself.” You pause, tempted to recount your most recent Netflix binge, but instead, you dive into why you're really here. “What's on your mind today?” they ask, and you both set a plan. Maybe today’s about conquering that fear of public speaking or finally figuring out why you can't stand pineapples on pizza. Throughout the session, it's all about open, honest talk. No judgment, just a safe space to be yourself. And guess what? Everything you say stays in that room. It's like Vegas, but healthier. By the end, you’re feeling lighter, maybe even a bit hopeful. You step out thinking, “I got this.” So, if you’re on the fence about therapy, take that step. You might just find it’s the best story you’ve ever started. Got questions or thoughts? Drop them below! Let’s break the stigma together. #MentalHealth #Therapy #Wellbeing #Support #AthenaBehavioralHealth

When you think no one else loves you, I can guarantee your therapist does. 💛 Love in the therapy room isn’t something we often discuss, but it’s a crucial component of the process. Sometimes when I express my care for a client they might say, “You’re just saying that because you have to.” It’s not true…we don’t HAVE to like all our clients. If we continue to work with you, chances are it’s not just because you’re paying us, but it’s also because we have grown to deeply care for you. 💛 Therapists: have you ever told a client that you love them? What was the context and how did it land with the client? 💛 Clients: do you trust that your therapist cares deeply for you? Have you ever had a therapist say so? 💛 #therapy #therapist #confession #therapistconfession #meme #therapymeme #therapythoughts #therapysession #therapistsoflinkedin
