An incremental update on a previous post, sharing insights on assessing the validity of predicted facies against labelled facies using data from the 2016 SEG machine learning contest. Some facies blend gradually in an ordered sequence, impacting the analysis. Key insights: 1. Maximum Probability (Max. Prob.) Panel: Trends towards lower probability values with depth (>2925 ft) indicate pronounced differences between labelled and predicted facies, suggesting low confidence predictions where divergence occurs. 2. Plausible Alternate Facies Panel: Differences >1 facies class are geologically implausible (dark bands), suggesting unconformities. The log is a QC tool for evaluating predicted facies plausibility, complementing ML Classification Reports. 3. Facies Probability Panel: Displays probability score logs for all nine predicted facies, observing 'fining' or 'coarsening' trends with depth.
