A few highlights from the Service Warranty Claims Process Study results revealed that the current cost of processing auto warranty claims is 28% higher (as a percent of revenue) than in 2020, when a similar study was conducted. Additionally, processing a single warranty claim takes 47% more time than the 2020 study. Current realities and anticipated trends outlined in the study indicate that warranty claims processing will continue to erode auto dealership bottom lines. I learned how to look up my own warranty times very early on in my tech career. Helped me immensely when learning how to beat flat rate. Over the years I started coding out all of my own warranty and got very familiar with what the manufacturer wanted, actually needed in order to process a claim properly. Once I started doing warranty admin full time it was actually pretty easy to manage so long as everyone is on the same page. Techs, parts, advisors, service managers att at once. Attention to detail and adherence to policy. There is no room for “gray areas” or fudging of info.
